Gosh not that any way is a good way to go but he's copping it bigtime. Much love to his family as both of those diseases individually are bad enough but in combination would be beyond difficult for them to cope with also

No man had better character and stayed as humble as "The Fabulous Fox" from McLeansboro.

He played Evansville College back in the 60's. A man among men who was almost unbeatable in basketball.
He was a defensive whiz and was a tough as nails full court master.
The top all-time legend at Evansville College, Sloan, who paired up with Humes, making this one of the greatest small-college combo, likely the best all-time small college combo.

The Purple Ace's dominated in 1964 and again [undefeated\ in 1965, winning two college championships in a row.
                    It's UE, now.
                    The best small-college-combo, ever.

I was born in Evansville, and there were 3 legends there.

                      Don Mattingly
                      Jerry Sloan

Didn't his wife die of cancer? I think I remember that, he'll probably be happy to meet up with her again..

This is the working link.. He's done.. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/f...se-per-report/

He got old at age 77.. Dementia and Parkinsons.. OUCH!!! Not fun losing your mind while shaking and losing you ability to move and function at the same time..

Hey, good deal. Yeah, statistically, I say Evansville is the all-time producer of college/pro, big name stars, in Indiana. Hey, Griese wasn't too bad either.
                                Probably 4th in population today.

                                    Loved him as a coach.

Crazy to look at him now.... and then remember his facial expressions when coaching Stockton and Malone. It's night and day.

Before my time.. Got a glimpse watching this tribute vid below.. I thought he was always like a hard nose Kurt Rambis type player based on the way he coached.. Apparently he was that and could score also when needed.

He was not JORDAN OR BIRD offensively.. Don't troll ABEaintHONEST!!!

Jerry was a good ole boy!! I'd like to see what Karl Malone says about him after he passes. Karl was a bit of hick Country boy himself.

I like the mentality of these old school players, they can't piss in the same athletic bucket as players today but they did play hard and with a certain type of toughness which I think is lost in the sport today..

Jerry Sloan always had the Jazz playing tough and they were always in the playoffs.. I do remember that!!! Who did they have? Karl Malone and a couple small white boys in John Stockton and Jeff. They played hard, they called them dirty, they played Defense!!

I rspk that!! It's a lost art today in the NBA if you ask me.

Kobe maybe the last player I remember that played with his heart on his sleeve. WILL TO WIN is becoming a lost art over anything else these days is GONE!!!

Spoiled players today just want dollars.. Hugs rather then trying to REALLY put the hurt on the other teams.. League and players have gotten paid and soft IMO!!!
