Can the METS make the playoffs?
    Team is surging right now.

Rotation could be deadly with Degrom, Sydergaard, Wheeler, Stroman.

Can if they can keep up this stellar play of late.. Always a good chance when teams heat up and get hot late in the season..

I'm just hoping they hold on now in this game and close it out.. Nice comeback ..

When they play Braves, Nationals and Phillies they will fall back.

        In a word. No.

Their last 46 games are brutal.
They can easily go 16-30 to close the season.

Problem is when they play Phillies and Nats they will be fighting for same spot. So splitting series won't do them good.

They've only lost once in the last 12. That can give a team a boost against tough teams. I hope they make it.

Yes, their pitching is lights out lately and the bats are doing great. If the pitching continues they’ll sneak in the wild card game

                                          I'm a business man I got lucky in 2015.

I made ALOT of money during the playoffs but baseball tickets are not a good investment long term.

Me too, in 2015 I made a ton of cash betting KC.
Had a futures bet on them too at 8:1, and the Royals paid off nice at the end of the regular season too winning their last 5 all on the road.
Greatest baseball season in your pal Nasher's life.

Yes, the home crowd can make a difference, a baseball team can feed off of 44,000 home town frenzies.
Mets fans better start turning out, to date they have drawn only 1.48 million at Citi, that's 11th out of 15th in NL attendance.

See that stretch of 10 consecutive games the end of September?
3 at Denver, 3 at Cincy, and 4 at Citi vs. the Marlins?
It would behoove the Metropolitans to win 7 out of 10 of those games.
Do that and go .500 against the Braves, Dodgers, Indians, and the other dangerous teams or better than .500 I'll give the NYM a fighting chance to snag a WC. However the Brews bats have woke up in a big way, They still have to hunt down the Cards, and Arizona based on their soft end of schedule are in the thick too, and don't forget about the Nats, they have been hot the last month.

Baseball Reference gives the Metropolitans a 13 percent chance of making the playoffs, Baseball Reference says the NYM will go 24 and 25 in their last 49 (23.8 and 25.2) to finish at an even 81 and 81. Best case scenario being 86-76 worst case scenario 75 and 87.

Fangraphs on the other hand paints a rosier picture for the Mets.
They give them a 30 percent chance of snatching a Wild Card and project them to go 83 and 79 to finish the year.
The big difference between Baseball Reference and Fangraphs (Nasher's two go to sources) is the way they view the Diamondbacks.
BR loves them FG says no way.

Playoff odds tell how likely an MLB team will win the division, wild card berth or win the World Series. FanGraphs simulates each season 10,000 times to generate the probabilities.

Good info in the above post. Always the pessimist, I'll have to say Yamaoto has been "not too bad". But I'm not gonna buck 2 to 1 favs that are playin great.

Had a futures bet on them too at 8:1, and the Royals paid off nice at the end of the regular season too winning their last 5 all on the road.

2015 bought a mid season package for the mets 12 games.(4 tickets) with that package got 4 tickets to every home playoff game then had the option to pick up 4 more tickets for every home game.

i went to every home game the entire playoffs (basically for free) and made about 20k profit for the entire playoff run

2015 was very profitable now if only the knicks could do that for me

What would also help the mets that last series of the year if atl has their spot and positioning locked up.

these arent the old braves that would love to knock the mets out of the playoffs.

The Knicks have one problem and one problem only.
                                                            His name is Dolan.
Now Dolan is not a complete idiot, but is still an idiot.
He knew how to make a profit with Cablevision, then selling it to the French group for beau coup money.
Dolan is a Rangers and hockey fan first, everything else a distant second.
He loves his Rangers, and as long as the Knicks put the dead presidents in his pocket, and his precious MSG (280 dollars a share and 1.2 billion in revenue) is doing just that he doesn't give a rats ass what the NYK do, as long as the suckers keep showing up at the home games for almost 300 dollars a game ticket (3rd most expensive ducat in the NBA for a home game) the Knicks will always be a cellar dweller. And he doesn't care that the Nets have taken over NYC either. I do love watching Steven A. Smith cry about his Knicks though.
