I kinda liked it... the 24/7 hustle really reminded me of when I was getting my payday loan biz up and running, with online requests, bail bonds and gambling $15k-20k / week in degenerate action just begging for a 5 teamed to bail me out....
Awful, story, awful acting(too much yelling for nothing)
Awful characters(Over the top unidentifiable)
Scattered story, unsettled plot ( scene transitions forced, hard to keep up with the story)
Uneven camera work( never steady, a little shaky)
Whoever said Sandler should get an award never seen a JJGOLD video.
Could have INSERTED JJGOLD, AND MADE THE SAME IMPACT
I liked that movie, very realistic and entertaining.
if you knew what dink really looked like and watched a movie about him. seeing bruce willis playing him, it fuked up the movie for you
at least that's what it did for me.

Tried to watch on netflix. Its pretty awful. Cant take more than 30-40 min at a time. Terrible lighting and camerawork. I didnt know Sandler had a mistress for a while can't differentiate their butt-ugly faces. Highlight of the movie is seeing the mistresses (I think its her) ass in lingerie, thats a serious ass.
And whats up with the Armenian character (Arno) its his bookie, but is also married into the family? Just so bizarre and gawd-awful in every step of the way. Just will finish out today to see if he doesnt get killed. The degenerate in me keeps it on life support to finish it. Or else wouldve turned off within the first 15 min . I dont think you can pick an uglier set of real life Jews if you tried, my goodness.
Head spinning every 5 minutes lost and confused trying to follow the narrative, and repulsed at the same time LMFAO.
I thought the never ending craziness that made it difficult to follow was part of what made it great. There wasn't a minute that went by of "filler". Obviously parts of it could have been better but overall I liked it quite a bit.
Just so random and bizarre. One scene armenian bookie stripping him naked locking him in trunk, then they are at a chanukah dinner together with families or something?

It was his brother in law who was also a loan shark that Sandler's character owed money to (which added a dynamic to the collection efforts). Why do you think he reacted the way he did at the end.

My favorite character was vince Vaughn, who was he in real life? Was his name Tori Rosenthal and they called him Rosie or whatever they say in the movie?

Agreed
I was looking forward to this, and felt disappointment
Ridiculous ending betting a parlay with the opening tip points and rebounds and game spread plunking down 165 K and book taking it all. Man do some research on betting types and what is accepted first. I knew that he would get capped in the end somehow.... So the muscle man who works for the armenian loan shark is the one that decides to blast him and his boss? Again more confusion till the end

Right, besides who let's you parlay opening tipoff, first half and game side-honestly, who does that-certainly not the Pocono(Mohegan Sun)

I mean yea the bet was redic but it’s a movie, I don’t need realism with everything. I thought it was pretty easy to look past those things. Like I said, wasn’t the greatest movie but I found it entertaining enough.

“I’m not very vulnerable in everyday life but I am in my art. I am from a Catholic upbringing where sex is seen as bad and gross. But growing up in Manhattan, sex was everywhere. And I like sex, sex that is taboo, sex that is dirty. I like that in porn too, but that’s another story…”

No, everyone called him rosie, and he was a bookmaker from Long Island, NY, his real name is Bernard Rose

I just used my suspension of disbelief for movies to get past the parlay issues (although I'm surprised more books don't offer who wins tip off if they'll let you bet on everything else under the sun).
Yes it was the loan shark BIL's muscle that got hot headed after spending hours in that vestibule between the two doors they couldn't escape.

Did he really end up broke working and a supermarket back home?
One line in the movie I remember is Rosie comes into the Sportsbook and says " this line is terrible who made this line"
And she replies " Baba made it"
I assume she is talking about the guy from the NBA betting scandal that everyone called Sheep. In his book he talks about going out to the Caribbean
and working at a Sportsbook, I'm guessing that's the same guy and she doesn't like him.
