Toronto is definitely in mourning today - he meant so much to our city.

RIP in peace Tony and God bless.

I remember when getting his rookie baseball card was a big thing in 1984. He didn't become the gigantic star that we thought he would be, but he was still a damn good player and human being. RIP

RIP Tony. This just breaks my heart. I grew up in Etobicoke watching you and George and Jessie and Lloyd and Dave and all the other Jays. Thank you for all the wonderful childhood memories. Condolences to your family.

Too young at 57. Take care of your kidneys.

"We were playing Cleveland and he pinch-hit in the eighth. His spot had come up in the ninth, but he had gone home. That was Tony.

                          — Ex-Blue Jays catcher Buck Martinez on former teammate Tony Fernandez

I remember that, I had the Fleer card that would go from face shot to field shot depending on the angle you looked. I was just a little guy but I thought that was so neat, it made him my favorite player for years.

RIP Tony! Thanks for the memories!
