Did you tip cows on drunken nights to pass time as a youth? Chop wood? What was that life like raising chickens and cows and riding horses?

I get you guys.. I'm jealous a bit.

I'm a beach boy but i often think of what it might have been like being raised on a farm and just raising live stock and being that COWBOY I never was!!

I missed out on that life fellas!!! I like the thought of it though!!

Pig roasts with the boys drinking buds and shooting off fireworks, hunting for game on the weekends, tractor pulls and muscle cars, etc.. You name it!!! I'm a good ole boy at heart some where deep down and I feel it at times!!!

I grew up on a ranch, never heard of this cow tipping crap in Oklahoma. Riding horses are awesome! Might be the New Green Deal but they probably fart to much like cattle.........lmao

A farm story -


Well I spent a month on a farm as a teen.. Saw a baby cow born, learned how to shoot a rifle and blew the heads off gophers when they popped their heads out of the gopher holes.. I become a good shot. Their was a reason I did that.

The reason is because a couple of the horses on the farm broke their legs galloping after hitting those gopher holes that they create in the ground. Horses had to be put down. Farmer head which was my girl friends dads brother at the time said we gotta kill these little critters in the ground or they kill my horses.. I was in....

Just one story I have from my teen years on a farm in Colorado.. I remember dogs, chickens, and all kinds of animals running around. It was cool. I remember eating steak and eggs for breakfast every morning and chopping wood too..

Fond memories I have on a farm and that's why I started this thread ..

It was a farm out in the middle of no where, acres of open land.. Had to drive miles to get into town.. Yes family owned.. I liked it. Could like a pit fire and look up at the stars with live stock every where.. Hound dogs you name it barking and running around..

Had the the big veggie grow areas you name it.. All natural.. The eggs you eat were straight from the hen house. Beef was from hunting or slaughtering a cow.. This family pretty much lived off the land.. Sold their food to small markets in town..

Simple basic life and living for the most part. Farm up keep is FAR from simple though, it's a full time job, not easy feeding the live stock daily and just keeping everything up and running smoothly day to day. I learned a lot..
