How is the Warp Speed virus testing going?
US tests to Apr. 3rd........ 1,350,000
    ................Apr. 10th........2,500,000 85% weekly increase
    ................Apr. 17th........3,570.000 42% weekly increase
    ................Apr. 24th.........5,000,000 40% weekly increase.
    ................May 1st.......... 6,700,000 34% weekly increase.
    ................May 8th...........8,382,000 25% weekly increase

I heard last week tests were going to be ramped up? Not quite war speed yet, actually decreasing.
Recently in the White House tests are everywhere but alas not for the general public.

Ohhh come ON!....those numbers can't be correct.
They make it look like Trump's testing plans are going in the wrong direction!

    They must be FAKE NEWS,
because I remember distinctly hearing Trump talk glowingly about all the
incredible massive increase in testing all across the country.
He said so on FUX News so we know it must be true.

Rapid tests everywhere would be great. I'm not sure how likely that will be.

Trump let it slip that more testing means more positive tests, which he doesn't want.

But that is kind of the issue with not having enough rapid tests. Feeling good doesn't mean you're not a carrier of it. I'm not getting into politics on this, but rapid tests could really open the economy up. Without them, you're going to have openings, then an outbreak, then closings over and over again.

you could test negative today but then get it tomorrow. Everyone would need to be tested daily and that isn’t feasible

This is an absolute embarrassment for a country with all the assets of the U.S. The whole world is looking at America as a bunch of bumbling fools. What makes matters worse is that the situation isn't going to get any better because the federal government has given up; it doesn't care about testing and it doesn't care what the final death total climbs to. Over the weekend, 14 states and D.C. had their highest number of new cases (on a per capita basis). Does that sound like we're making progress?

China is the embarrassment not the US or any other Country that is fighting this virus that started out of China which they covered up and still let flights go out when they knew the virus was contagious and spreading... Ask Italy about that..

CHINA is basically responsible for ruining almost every economy on the planet..

Corona is what it is.. We need a population thinner sooner or later even though Corona won't do it..

Our pretty blue planet is getting polluted and over populated at an incredible rate now.. Numbers don't lie and something has to give in time..

I don't see us humans spreading out to other planets anytime soon either or getting smart enough to stop reproducing like rabbits... That's keeping it real as ugly as that sounds!!!

Yeah really. You could get tested today and get the virus tomorrow and spread it around thinking that you are clean.

Exactly. Testing is only the answer if you are a hospital or long term care worker

I give the rich billionaires creditt for trying though.. Did get reverse rocket landing out of it so far which is impressive.. That's about it..

                                              This population explosion is unsustainable!
And THAT is in very large part what is accelerating the human factor in "global warming"

purpose would be if test positive you then would be quarantined, and contact tracing would then lead to everyone you exposed to the virus would be tested and quarantined. without this you are right its useless

it's not about finding the negatives. That is the backwards way of looking at this test. For every positive test that you find, you then can isolate those people that are unknowingly spreading the virus before their symptoms start or even better finding the Asymptomatic carriers that woud be spreading the virus for 2-4 weeks unknowingly.

okay, so hypothetically let's say 2000 SBR posters are all sent to an isolated island resort for a few months.

you separate them onto two sides of the island, 1000 each side. Every day they come together to do some work and to do some recreation.

On one side you test every 3 days. On another side you do no testing.

assuming a serial interval of 7.5 days with a 5 day incubation and R naught reproductive rate of 2.2

if each group of 1000 started out with a lone individual that unknowingly was an asymptomatic postive covid case here is how it would go.

the non testing group would have 783 members infected within 1 week and the full 1000 on day 8. the testing and isolating group would have 60-80 after 1 week.

obviously that situation and testing rate would never occur. But in real life removing just 1 asymptomatic carrier from going to the work place, restaurants, grocery stores ect in a "back to normal lifestyle" will prevent 9,500+ people from potentially getting infected 10 days later. So for every positive test you identify you are potentially saving many lives and hundreds of hospitalizations.

or more simply think of it like this.

What's the point of even doing AIDS testing? you could get a negative test and go to the sauna tomorrow and get spindled and contract HIV there.

The point is if you get a positive test for HIV today, you stop going to the Sauna and spreading your dirty aids dick and ass to all the spindlers and jelly pinchers that you used to.
