I know I’ve done that at times but I’m pretty bad about it. I have to. I don’t want to spend a shitload but the one I have is outdated and too slow. Newegg.com has refurbished I can get good deals on... $400 to $600 is what I’m thinking

Dell and HP were once great. Their products are garbage now.

I've purchased two Lenovos in the last year and both perform very well and look great. I'm not big on laptops and much prefer using my Xidax PC. You should be able to get what you need in the $600 range for sure.

I want something super fast and sleek. I don't know if I should get touch screen or what.

Not familiar with today's products but very used to traditional laptop so unsure if I should switch to something foreign to what I'm used to.

Not sure if I should go PC or Apple, because I'm so used to PC, but have iphone. And compatability stuff is a concern but I'm open to suggestions.

Would like to hear from my fellow keyboard warriors out there who have some good input.

I have multiple platforms for different uses. With my business we have about 200 total computers and we use both Windows/MAC OS and integrate through Google but still have the bells/whistles of each system. We acquired a company that uses Lenovo and those are solid machines also.

Personally my top 2 I use are:

HP Stream: Cheap, effective and functional for basic outlook email, travel, Zoom, Webcasts, etc... and light websurfing like trolling SBR. Not great for downloading any major porno files (just go to Xvideos) or heavy streaming use. Funny, because it's called a stream. I have an external hard drive for any major data dumps. I wouldn't go this cheap again. Probably somewhere between this and a MacBook Air.

Apple MacBook Air: more high powered for making presentations, emails,client related files, saving items, big format items, advertising tools, etc... Probably not what you need.

I'd land on a midscale HP with Office/Business Personal or one of the cheaper models of Apple. Poster above right about Lenovo too. Solid product. Dell seems early 2000's hasn't kept pace to me. When we renew all the computer leases we probably go to a single platform. I like how everything on my Apple integrates with phone, watch, etc... but it's really not necessary. HP makes a solid product. Don't do stream. Too cheap but I got it for something to travel with bang around.

I'm working on a new 17" Dell laptop now that I got a few months ago off Amazon, I like it alot.. Paid $1000 for it..

It's fast, the Dell support is VERY GOOD.. I switched from HP to Dell and never looked back.. HP laptops suck, HP support sucks too..

i'm in same boat and need a new laptop. Got a refurbished HP back in 2015, in 2018 my laptop fell on bricks and hard drive was busted so replaced it. (now i will always recommend and will start backing up everything on an external drive. I lost everything important to me.

i have 1 desktop with 2 monitors...its my fukkin go to

i have 1 laptop i spent like $600 on (plenty of others in that range that are now dead)....the cord doesnt fukkin charge the battery any more. Ive had tons like that. so i gotta keep it plugged in unless i wanna go buy a cord or a new battery

i have 1 cheap as shit computer...bare minimum. if i have to use it, i make sure to save to a usb drive......i do whatever i want with that laptop. ive punched it, ive thrown it. got juiced on the keyboard....it still works and charges fine/holds battery. sometimes i have to click as many as 10 websites fast, this cheap ass computer is way faster than the $600 one so i just keep the other one in the fukkin closet

i go cheap laptop only unless you want 1 of those 2 in 1 combos, thatll be my next purchase

ive gotten refurbished both laptops and desktops

i wouldnt get another laptop refurbished

Zammer...There are plenty of knowledgeable computer guys on SBR. They will chime in to add to the good advice that you have received so far.

I use an old Sony Viao and an Apple tablet.
The old Sony with Windows 7 meets my needs so I'm not much help.

There are USB flash drives out there the size of a thumb. It's basically the USB piece and a small stub sticking out that can easily stay plugged into the side to serve as the external drive. I've seen them 256GB and up. Perfect to serve as the backup hard drive and store important files to move from computer to computer.

I had a cheap Lenovo for 3 years, absolutely hated it because of how slow it was to run multiple tabs. Just bought a new HP on sale at Sam's Club. It's one that will flip and can be used as a tablet. So far works great.

That laptop sucked.

I restored to factory settings and everything. I think it was about $670....broken somewhere

But the fukkin thing loads pages over twice as low as the one I have for like $229 that I bought as a NEED NOW circumstance

That laptop I bought like that is miles ahead. I cant even justify buying a cord and/or battery for the that wont charge because who knows, it might be that small little shit connection in the laptop port area....I think it is that because I was able to change directions of the cord/how it sat in...like my phones....and finally it would charge...now it wont

I'm glad that you have solved the problem.

I have passed out 3 times with a laptop on my chest
and each time they landed on the corner and broke.
Eventually they seperate from opening and closing
and are not worth saving.
The problem was solved when I quit drinking and passing out. But that's just me.
Hope that my Windows 7 Sony holds up as it's become an ild friend.

so in a chair, i might be 90 deg angle

sitting on floor i need it different

and if i lay on it during porn, ill need 180
