He was with a group of families who go to the same elementary school. Unfortunately we know a lot of people at this school. He told the life guards to take his son and then come back for him. When they did he was gone. Really sad.

Cryme Time were awesome. Someone who was there told that Shad told the savers to go for his son, which they actually did. Really hope dude pulls through, I can't even fathom how hard for him it'll be to live with that. Hope he doesn't blame himself

Tragedy for sure.

If you actually believe in karma I guess all those people who died along with Kobe as well as all the dying kids in St. Jude Children's Hospital among countless other examples must've done something truly horrible to deserve their fate. I know exactly where he went in the ocean and drowned, I will ride that bike path daily in summer past that spot when Corona is lifted.. I'll look for his bones washed up on shore when Corona is lifted..

Because the beaches are open only to active use.

Also you know as well as anyone in this area that the waves look calm only to have a big set come up and pound everyone. Before you know it, boat rides for everyone. Usually it ends ok and everyone makes it home with a good story.

true story: when i was 9 years old on family vacation in Florida i was out in the ocean having fun on a float, not too far out at all. having a blast and then all of a sudden i realized that i was moving away from shore while just laying on my float... it started so quickly. i didn't panic and started to swim back towards shore but at 9 years old and weighing so little i was losing that battle big time. didn't take me long to panic and scream towards shore at my dad who was in the water but not far out with my siblings and he heard me and swam out got a-hold of my float and tugged me back with him. first day back at school after summer i told everyone i almost died and would've been some sharks snack

Waters were ruff that day I checked it out.. I'm a surfer and I know it was choppy and there were rip currants in spots.

He should not have taken his 10 year old past knee deep water in that stuff.. He probably put the 10 year old on his shoulders and wanted to be a big shot, went neck deep and then got swept out from behind and lost the kid. Started to panic and fought it the wrong way and gassed.. Split up with his kid which is even worse..

I know these scenarios.. I've been sucked out in the strongest of currents in Malibu and Mexico back in the day with big surf and rips and I was with out a board and it sucks. You gotta stay calm as you do get sucked out to sea and can get rattled.. Stay calm, Regroup and take a different route back in to shore when you finally hit calmer waters.. I'm an experienced swimmer though..

I haven't read what was in the story, but I know for a fact that there were multiple families who all went to the same school who were out in the water with their kids. They were actually looking for another kid who they couldn't find and presumed was dead. Turns out that kid was safe but nobody knew it before they all went out looking for him. Many of them ended up floating on a boogie board while they waited to be rescued. Trust me - this isn't some reckless dad who wanted to show off. This is a fukkin tragedy and a lot of people are affected by this. It's completely fukked up.
