Again proving the players are better without fans
I don’t think they care if they ever come back just better concentration now

These courses aren't exactly designed for the most difficult scoring on tour these last two weeks.
The last 2 winners at the Travelers were at -17 and the real trouble of this course becomes scrambling from the rough for those missing greens. The players can putt this surface (bentgrass/poa annua) even though it might get fast, so the winner will likely have quite a few birdies under his belt, maybe 20 or so for the tourney.
It's also one of the easier courses for par 4 birdie conversions, though it's gotten tougher each year since the course was redone in 2015.
But I think the golfers don't mind having no fans. They mentioned things like errant shots that don't require the time to move ropes and people, slowing down everyone (not sure why they don't get them moved before the golfer arrives at his spot...lol). Spieth has said few things about concentration and big tourneys easier without the atmosphere of fans.
If they played a year without fans, I might be able to quantify something given the amount of year to year data I have on every tourney, but I think they'll have fans soon.
Unless the shit continues to hit the fan and localites have to pull the plug on gatherings, tying the hands of the PGA Tour organizers.

Yeah, these would be low scores anyway, but I do think your right. Last week on moving day (Sat.) there were something like 6 golfers at -8 for the round.
That definitely does not occur often.
They lit it up Friday and Saturday last week.

The courses are too easy I’ll admit that they have to start tightening these things up it’s kind of boring

It also seems to be about who makes the most putts, not who plays the best.
When the course is so easy it becomes a wedge and putting contest. Last week Webb had what like 20 putts made over 20 feet? Give them a challenge to hit the green and see who can grind through the conditions.

Crazy though because this course should have set up for him well.
I think the pressure of closing in on Tiger's record got to him.

Let's face it - It's not a great spectator sport anyway, especially on the weekends!

Watch out for Hughes in these final two rounds, no fans means no names like him will play with less pressure. I will not be watching, I keyed heavy on Corey Conners... kid didn't even make the cut. I need Sergio to be the top Spaniard to break even. Good luck fellas
