most of us when we say we play golf it is basically hitting balls wildly or grounders better off going to an open field and hitting because it is the same thing
the short game didn't get worse? my chipping/putting is so much better this year, as long as i keep a consistent level of alcohol intake
a few drinks is my sweet spot, less than that isn't great and more than that of course gets sloppy
What is strange is I never lost the mid-wedge, chip shots. Those usually the first thing to go when one doesn't play, but I cannot putt for shit. I played last Wednesday, and hit 14 of 18 GIR and shot 74

that's a hell of a round! i'm almost always between 82 and 86, if i played 1000 rounds i'd never have a 74, maybe i could sneak some 79s in there though lol
i don't even keep track of GIR because i'm just off the green so often
I wish I was better, playes 3 times last week and about 50 since the quarantine started. Was shooting 115+ before that easily, so definitely improving.
Probably the most fun i have had playing a sport since high school, glad I got into it. Hopefully by the end of the season I can break 90.
Still using a hand me down set of irons, thinking of getting fitted for a new set. Ive upgraded my driver and wedges already. Average drive is about 220-240 but I keep it straight probably 75 percent if the time

my only tips based on playing with a bunch of random people are
1) with iron shots, especially wedges, look at your stance and make sure your hands are in front of the ball, a lot of lessons they put a penny or something in front of the golf ball and practice hitting through that... then you're never gonna have a mishit where you chunk behind the ball
2) putting i would focus on keeping your head down
sounds like your drives are decent, which is good, straight is better than long and wrong, the average golfer would score better off just hitting a 5 iron off of every tee!

Yeah my drive is definitely the most consistent part of my game. Irons are weird. Some days ill hit the 6 iron 160 other days ill top it 40 yards or shank it right all day.
Idk some days some clubs just dont work for me, others they work great

80-100
Driver kills me, long and into the woods......double bogey. Straight and down the middle..... par.
Avg. 1-3 birds a game and usually the same "others".
I should tee off with a hybrid but my ego gets in the way.
I shoot mid-70s. Used to be more of a scratch golfer back in the day and actually tried to make it to the next level once, but I had the hardest time shaking my baseball swing from my golf swing (I played baseball in high school and some in college). Kept pulling the ball and finally said screw it and signed up for OCS instead.
I still play well but just can't seem to get my game under par. I'm your typical 4 or 5 bogey per round golfer with one or two birdies mixed in. Literally a broken record every time I play.

that's how i've been, except 10 shots or so worse
i think this is the last year i do unlimited... gets pretty boring shooting about the same score unless there is gambling involved
The more I try to watch instructional stuff, the worse I get. I'm so bad right now. I need some personal instruction. I believe I have the capability to play decent if I get my form right. I'm reasonably athletic. I can repeat form. I'm a great shot a basketball, good bowler, etc. No reason why I can't golf, but I still suck.

It's a mind game once you've got the form down. I can do the mind stuff. Actually I'm pretty good at the short game and stuff like that. I just have never properly learned form, never had any instruction. Can't hit a drive right now to save my life.
