This could be a testing issue, but not necessarily.
As to the first, we don't know that all who have had covid will develop antibodies and/or how long it will last. So could be accurate.
As to the second, one could have had it, but just bever got tested while it was actually active.
So there are explanations that don't necessarily mean tests were wrong. Then again, that could be the issue also.Comment -

Wife tested positive for Covid back in late March and was very sick for a week. Somehow, I did not get sick and tested negative. Not sure how I could not get the virus from her when I sleep right next to her. I also recently tested negative for the antibodies, wife tested positive.
In my comments, I was referring to a few friends we have. Not a huge sample size, but it is what it is.
Doctor said that only 50% of antibody tests are accurate. With that rate, not even sure why they are even testing for it!Comment -

I know a lot of people here in Houston that have been tested for various reasons, many for work. I’ve been tested 3 times. Unfortunately, the percent of false negatives are fairly high, I’ve heard 6 to 10 percent. Not only based on the testing machine but also operator error. False positives are a bit more accurate but still occur ~7percent. My daughter tested positive at a new facility but immediately tested negative at 2 other places. There’s many factors to a test, when did you take it? How long before you got results? You could be infected but not shedding enough of the virus yet, through your nose for example. If you are showing symptoms, you should act as if you have it even if tests say otherwise.Comment -

Because we have failed tests and we still know so little about what is going on, then this seems to indicate that the possibilities are endless about what is actually going on. I feel bad for a lot of people because of this.
