Question for the brain trust?

So i close my account out and take a cashiers ck from 5Dimes. In their verification it says the ck may come from a foreign bank. Do most banks like BB&T accept these cks. Otherwise, is their usually an issue trying to cash these cks..??? Thanks in advance.

I did that once several years ago and the bank held the check. It took 5 weeks to clear.

I suspect some banks do things differently.

Amazing, it says in 5Dimes disclaimer cks must be cashed within 2 weeks of receiving...

I suspect you cash it the same day, and the bank would just hold the funds...no problem.

Comes from a Canadian bank. I can only speak to BkofAmerica, as someone mentioned, 5-6 years ago it took weeks to clear. Still with BkofAma, received 4 checks in the last 8 months from 5D, each for 3k, and every check cleared in a day literally

Like everything else, most banks have become more sophisticated with the way they operate

Deposited. Which I’m sure everyone would do within the 2 weeks. Once it’s going through the system, 5D wouldn’t put a stop. Of course that’s under normal working conditions, with the cluster F now, who the hell knows

Got my phone call and then the email verification.. balance went to zero - message in cashier went to transaction paid. wallet says confirming on the deposit.

Nice to have this over with.

This almost feels like a bankruptcy claim / claims administrator / futures fiasco / smells of somebody else being in charge / like a new owner bought it but did not want the USA?
