I'm going to Las Vegas next month for The Tennis Channel Open. Which hotels have the best sportsbook? I'm thinking about staying at the Mirage or the Suncoast since both places offer free shuttle service to the Darling Tennis Center.

#6I haven't been to Vegas in 2 years but I was there frequently before then so things may have changed. I rate them from a comfort standpoint,
My favs:
Bellagio
Las Vegas Hilton (not the Hilton on the strip) best odds in town
Caesar's Palace
Treasure Island
Boulder Station (not on strip)
Comments on others:
STRIP Casinos
Mirage - poor lighting for horse handicapping otherwise very nice
Bally's - spacious, auditorium shaped, away from main casino, usually quiet and empty
Hilton (strip) - small, loud, not much happening there
Barbary Coast - Small, where the tough knowledgeable locals hang out on the strip
Venetian - small, comfortable, sizzling waitresses
Imperial Palace - decent sized, away from main casino, hottest waitresses
MGM Grand - medium size separate room, quiet, nice (pretty sure there were big changes planned for this one before I left)
Excaliber - A lot of space devoted to a cheap crappy set-up
Luxor - small, comfortable
Mandalay Bay - large, loud, would recommend this place for big event watching
Tropicana - Sports book only, separate room
Stratosphere - Large, comfortable, attracts some questionable local clientel
Riviera - tiny, uncomfortable
Sahara - tiny, uncomfortable
Wynn - Haven't seen it yet
Aladdin - tiny, uncomfortable
Paris - Spacious, comfortable
Harrah's - Medium sized, average
Frontier- small, comfortable, quiet
Circus Circus - Small, lighting too crappy for me
New York, New York - Tiny, loud, annoying pedestrian traffic all around
LOCAL casinos
Rio - medium sized, comfortable
Palms - Nice, spacious, comfortable, can't bet NBA because Maloof's own Palms and Sacramento Kings
Gold Coast - Need to be at least 70 years old to play here
Texas Station - Another place to see some mahvelous piece of A$$
Sam's Town - Need to be at least 72 years old to play here
Orleans - Good sized, no individual monitors, waitresses wear not much
Palace Station- Good size, comfortable, kind of loud
Lord I miss those places. Enjoyed bringing them back in my mind to write this though.Last edited by Art Vandeleigh; 01-24-07, 06:39 AM.Comment
