Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen has just posted an extremely disturbing video on his Instagram account and it’s very worrisome, to say the least.

We are not going to put the video here due to its graphic nature, but if you want to view it, here is a link to a YouTube video upload showing Griffen holding a gun in a dark room while referring to some people out to “get” him. He also dropped Vikings running back and teammate Dalvin Cook’s name during the 30-second long video.

Whatever Griffen is going through, it appears that he really needs help. At this point, it should also be remembered that he admitted to struggling with his mental health some years ago, when he allegedly tried to shoot a person at a hotel. That incident led to him being taken to the hospital to get his mental health evaluated.

Griffen last saw action on the field last Sunday during a 34-31 home win against the Green Bay Packers in which he appeared in 43 snaps. So far this season, he’s played in nine games and produced five sacks — second on the team — but given this latest development, it’s safe to assume that he won’t be on the field when Minnesota takes on the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara this week.

Griffen’s safety should be the no. 1 priority of the Vikings as of the moment and we hope that he’ll get the support he needs.

Minnesota Vikings DE Everson Griffen refuses to leave home after firing weapon

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen is refusing to leave his home after telling police he fired a weapon inside the residence early Wednesday morning, according to the Minnetrista Public Safety Department.

Griffen called 911 around 3 a.m. Wednesday saying that there was an intruder in the home and that he needed police assistance. He told the dispatcher that he had fired his weapon but that no one was injured.

Police said that they could not find an intruder at Griffen's residence and that the defensive end has refused to come out amid ongoing communication with law enforcement and Vikings team psychologists.

"Vikings representatives and the team's mental health professionals have been on-site at Everson Griffen's home since early this morning and are cooperating with law enforcement," the team said in a statement. "Our only concern at this time is the safety and well-being of Everson and his family. We will have further comment at the appropriate time."

Earlier Wednesday, Griffen posted a since-deleted Instagram story, writing, "I need help people trying to kill me. At my own house," and a video in which Griffen could be seen holding a gun. He also made two since-deleted Instagram posts showing text messages sent to his agent, Brian Murphy, asking for help.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters before the release from the police that he was not sure of Griffen's safety.

In his first stint with the Vikings, Griffen took a monthlong hiatus during the 2018 season to focus on his health and well-being after the team ordered him to undergo a mental health evaluation and two incidents involving police authorities led to him being hospitalized. He said in April 2019 that he had had a "rough year" relating to his mental health.

I know it could be mental, and the video is short and has a lot of movement, but it looks like he spun the hell out on meth or some stimulant. Eyes wide open, looks like his pupils are huge too. It's always incredibly late. I know he has mental issues but they may be enhanced by something going on there.

I mean if a guy just gets up or stays up till 5 am, shooting a guy, and looks like that because of mental issues alone he should be on a 72 hour hold and admitted.

Whatever he was going through, just know it was very real to him. See it on a nightly basis whether he is Schizophrenic or just in a drug induced psychosis. Needs lifelong care or will just end up dead or homeless like so many others in a revolving door from facility to facility. The trauma to the head certainly won't help his case.

Just think of the all the healthcare workers that job it is too de-escalate these type of Patients on a nightly basis in very similar psychosis's. Covid isn't helping having to wear a mask and try to calm down a paranoid pt. You see it on every floor. Don't take much for one to be triggered. A lot of you guys like to put down other posters who are healthcare workers and you look foolish. Dr's and RNs are making bank working side by side with some of the hottest chicks.

They enable a resistance. Government at the Federal level only has power if the Sheriff & local PD have control. Guns are enough to limit local PD & Sheriff & remind politicians who they work for.
