reasons to go for it on 4th and 5 1:30 into a game... at home on thursday night in a critical divisional game
none
one of the dumbest decisions of the season and on top of it the targeted WR gets injured without being tackled or hit by another human being and has to be put on a stretcher...
karma?
Exactly what I was thinking. Just kick it. Analytics are situations occurring in a bubble. You can’t ignore them but you can’t ride them into the ground either.
I can't believe that they didn't kick a field goal.
they compound not kicking it first drive and not getting 3 by doing the same thing with 3 sec left before half...
if they lose this will be one MAJOR example of why using analytics and stats/percentages to "go for it" instead of taking almost guaranteed 3 points is RETARDED

most coaches around the league go for it now on 4th down inside the 5. He makes it, they are up by 2 scores and the coach is gutsy. They don't make it, well we know the criticisms.
Imagine stopping your opponents on 4th and goal inside the 5, twice, still trailing them by 4 points. Chiefs needs to stop beating themselves now, Mahomes can´t miss anymore wide open wideouts.

The first one you can make a case, the second one, no way. You take the 3 and go up 17-10.
Actually think it’s the other way around? They were at the 5 yard line for the first one and the game was tied. The second was at the 2 and they were up over a fg. I guess you could say the chiefs would be pinned if you miss though and that wouldn’t happen the second time
They were dominating KC and they wanted max points to show for it. To be fair, both 3rd and 4th down the receivers were both wide open for a TD. One, the pass was a bit high and the second was deflected. The first time they went for it on 4th, wasn't there 3 dropped passes for TD's? They seem to have the right calls but the execution was just off.
They may do it again and score 7 at a important time in game maybe they are seeing what they can get away with knowing they have a QB capable to score points at any time very aggressive coaching 🤔

I would have kicked the FG to be up by 7.
if it's more than 3 yards out to basically start a game where you got down the field with a special teams play and you're in a critical divisional game that will most likely come down to the 4th quarter there are ZERO reasons to pass up getting 3 points thanks to that special teams play
i don't care if guys dropped passes before 4th down ... that's just my opinion
this coach is an idiot... he got away with going for it all the time on 4th down vs the browns earlier this season.... he's going to find out about criticism for real if they lose by 3 to 6 points vs KC
