Guy is garbage last two years. Verdugo, Kiké, or even Joc would have been such a better keep. One hit wonder boy Belli. He needs to be sent down again or better yet, put out to pasture.

#8Belli will come through. They didn't pay him all this money for nothing. And when he comes through, everybody will be sucking him offComment -
#9Paying him all this money might be the problem, he seems to have forgotten ...see ball- hit ball. Sure he walks into some dingers and last post season everybody forgave him for being a huge hole in the lineup, saving the day.
Makes me sick Joc is a Giant.

#12He hit .165 last year. since his Mvp season in 2019? the guy has serious issues at the plate. has the looks of a hitter with his best days behind him because of a burnt shoulder. you do not just fall off the cliff from '17 rookie-of-the-year, to solid years in 2018 and '19, and become this disaster if there isn't a major problem.
who knows, maybe the ortho who did his shoulder surgery saved what was left? or botched it? either way, when bellinger is in the lineup the dodgers are playing 8 vs 9Comment -

#15He's come through now. Back to MVP form. What kind of contract is he going to get?Comment -
#16
He's signed for 12.5 million next season with the Cubs, but there's a 5 million dollar buyout.
He can be a FA in 2024.
No secret NYY covet his lefty swing.
He'll be a NYY next year at 1B or corner OF.Comment -

Unless he collapses here (unlikely), he'll be in line for a huge payday. He's only 26. I think he can command 5-6 years at 30 mil per, give or take. NYY would definitely make sense. He can also play CF quite well actually.
Only question is whether the Cubs trade him in the next week. With their recent surge, it seems unlikely unless a team like NYY overwhelms them with an offer.Comment -

#23Oh yeah.
I'm hardly a Sammy Sosa fan boy, far from it, I can't stomach the prick, however I'm in Fenway Park, and it had to be '90 or '91 when Sosa was playing for the White Sox, long before he started sticking God knows what in his veins, I saw him during BP from the Pesky Right Field Foul Pole, back against the fence, throw a frozen rope pea on a line to home plate.
I never saw Clemente, I wasn't even drawing breath when Roberto roamed the OF in Pittsburgh, but I saw a ton of Red Sox games with Dewey Evans in RF, Dale Murphy from the Braves, I've seen Vlad Sr. throw some missiles too, but I've never seen an OF throw like Sosa's that one time warming up and shagging flies during BP.
Sosa's an idiot, all that God given talent, bazooka for an arm, 40 tater a year pop even before he learned how to mainline 'roids and cork bats, and he couldn't even cork a bat correctly, flushed down the toilet.
He could have been in Cooperstown instead of the butt end of some real bad joke.Comment -

#27The Cubs wish that was the case, but that's not correct. He can decline and become a FA in 2023, and he will. Assuming he's not traded, the Cubs will then tender him a QO and he will decline and become a FA.

#28They're great if you suffer from asthma and eczema.
When I was a teenager I got the worst case of poison ivy ever while fishing.
Arms, legs, face, everywhere.
So bad I was rushed to a dermatologist specialist.
He prescribed me a big ass tube of steroid cream.
That ivy was gone in two hours.
Yeah, steroids are great if a doctor prescribes them for you to get over certain skin conditions, or help speed up injuries like to tissues, or to help with inflammation and so forth.
As a performance enhancing tool, sure you'll get short term results, long term, best case scenario your yam bag will be reduced to the size of a couple of cocktail peanuts, you'll probably lose your high salaried profession athlete gig...
Worst case scenario...
How's Lyle Alzado and Chris Benoit doing these days?Comment -
