Shams gets a check from the Sixers, also writes for The Athletic, his integrity is pure, he gets his information straight from the source.

I'm telling you, something changed on a dime in this morning leading up until game time.
I'm betting Embid did a great job of convincing Rivers and Elton Brand that he was 100 percent good to go.
    I'll find out.

Maybe sportswritting is like metereology. They said today there was a 70% chance we get rain but it didn't rain in my house.

Maybe Shams should have twitted there is a great chance Embiid is ruled out. But he chose to tweet he is ruled out like it was a done deal. He never gave himself an out. He put himself in a corner.

Depending on where the information came from... I didn't check. But once NBA.com confirms it..... it's confirmed if someone is OUT. They have reports like ever 4-5 hours daily. If it was reported... and they confirmed it... they shouldn't be able to activate Embiid.

Anyway, I said to myself "there is no way this second half will be as brutal as the first half", checked the 2H total (101)

thought it was a reasonable number, put a hundred on it, the 2H total was on 100 with about 00:48 left, Bang, Maxey hits that three-point bomb.

This is why I don't whine over bad beats.
You win some, you lose some.
          This one I won.
Total is at 100 with 48 seconds left one missed shot then a dribble out close masher

Ok, Ok, let's not nitpick here.
It's not like I was taking notes while I was watching.
(Just messing with you, your still my go-to guy Bucky)

I had to go and double check the play by play transcript.
I knew with 00:48 seconds left the total was sitting on 100, and at that point I knew I needed one last bucket.
The box score says Maxey triple was made at 00:20, I thought it was earlier than that.

When Philly scored with a minute left that put the game total at 175, the 1H total was 75, that's simple math, I knew the 2H was an even 100 at that point. Maxey made it 103 at the end, but still I thought he hit that with 00:48.

Hey, we all misspeak every now and then.
            Brain fart on my part.

What do you contribute for Rotowire?

I've thought of applying for some sorta work there before because I follow injuries religiously so it wouldn't be much differentiation from what I'm already doing.

btw the Embiid thing was almost certainly gamesmanship. Morey & Rivers have been around a long time and they know it's better on numerous levels - including fan atmosphere and PMA - for the uplifting news to come close to game time.

I remember the Thunder/ SPurs series in which Ibaka was thought to be done for the playoffs but returned for a game 3 at home. Game 3 a blowout win for the Thunder just as it was for the Sixers. Thunder won that series 4-2 after falling behind 0-2, if I remember correctly.

I've had a couple of talks with a couple of SBR authorities here in regard to what I can and what I can't self-promote.
For instance, it's OK for me to post I write for a particular DFS sports analytics site, but it's not OK to post links to my professional or personal business because that can be construed as self-promotion which I already knew going in, I mean common sense will tell you that it's unethical (rules of conduct) to use a free site like this platform as a vehicle to promote any of my personal side businesses. I just needed clarification is all, I like SBR, hell I've been writing posts here for eleven years running, I must like it, and I need SBR in the sense I get some of my ideas from you jabronis, and these forum boards sharpens my writing skills too. Oh, and with the except of a couple, I like you guys, you put the fun in dysfunctional.

To answer your original question with a vague answer, without providing hyperlinks, just to keep everything ethical, the best way to go about it would be (it's what I did) at the bottom or almost every web sites like these you'll find a glossary, with topics such as 'about us' 'contact us', 'careers' etc. etc. go to 'careers' take it from there, they'll tell you to submit a sample of your work, make sure it's your best effort, if they like it they'll use you as a freelance contributor.

Ideally, for me I want to return to Boston, DK has offices right in downtown Boston, but in IT, even though my real-life job requires some technical writing, I have a passion for creative writing but that just a hobby, it's not what I do for a living.

DK in downtown Boston, would be the only way I would return to an office building to work.
Over two years ago when the pandemic forced us techies to work remote was the last time I'll ever schlep to an office building, I've learned to love working from home remotely, ever commute on the I-95 on a daily basis?
It's a life changing experience in a negative way. It'll age you 20 years and raise your BP 20 more points as well.
The I-95 in the northeast between DC/NYC/Boston is a battleground and the drivers drive with a "move or be moved by me" mentally, and trust me, those commuters don't mess around, they'll murder you via road rage and not think twice doing so,

I see. IT work then? I have a background in IT myself. They wouldn't employ me though, I've been in gambling too long. Analytical writing sounds fun to me too but reportedly a super-competitive marketplace -anyone can open up a blog.

I blog on the 'big one' (you know what 'word' blogging site I'm talking about).
It's much more than a blog site, it's what amateurs like me use, but more importantly a lot of huge corportation use in everyday business. The site I'm talking about provides all the developers software you'll ever need, auto editors, and on and on and on.

If you're good enough and market yourself outside the box you'll be successful.
You'll be lost in the crowd if you're personal website/blog is a cookie cutter format, you'll get this reaction.
                            "Been there, done that"

It's not enough to bring stellar content to the table, you need to stand out, like I say, think outside the box.

I'm not trying to brag myself up, believe me, my shit does indeed stink, but I got off to a good start because I have this odd sense of humor that I use in my analytical writing.

People will read your dry technical, analytical writing whose report is peppered with digits, decimal points, and percentage signs if you bring it to life with some personality, oh sure I prove my points with those boring numeric, but
what I do (I figured this all out on my own) is I add in my personality when I sum everything up in the summary.

People don't really like to read robotic reports, they need to read them, but they don't like too.
I just humanize the data, if that makes any sense? (I think it does)

I need to step away from the PC, your pal Nasher has a real life with a real family too.
Need to make lunch, check the dogs, and give the Mrs. some attention, they seem to like that (don't ya know)?

I want to watch hoops and the horse derby, if I don't do some of the household work, I will catch some Ally shit.
You know what worse than an earful of Ally shit?
                            Nothing.

                            Peace, I'll be around later,

                              Let's go heat tho
Huh? You first asked about a foul at the end of the half. I said even though I was on the Heat, I thought it was a clear foul. Then you questioned me that you didn't think I was on the Heat, since I question Doc making dumb decisions? Which is the only reason why I said I was on the Heat because I was. Who cares when/what line I had. I wasn't trying to brag about a betting line. For some reason you didn't believe I was on the Heat which was weird.

I normally post what I'm on before the game. I think I said I was on the Heat in another thread but WHO CARES??? I'm not in the business of impressing posters. Or posting lines after the fact.
