That is like tipping your bank teller.

#40Happy that taking any tip as a casino gaming worker is illegal here and will see them lose their license to work there.
Pay rates are probably quite a bit higher though to account for that. But I'd prefer business costs are borne by the business and not left up to if a customer is nice enough to pay their employees properly.
Also if you dont tip in certain places and the expectation is that those employees will make money to compensate them with their wage and tips then you can expect the ones that are good at that job to leave pretty quick and be replaced with any idiotComment -

#42on a big score, maybe a tip.
but on the day to day grind, tipping every play will evaporate your profits.
the margins are razor thin the way it is.Comment -

#45Only time I tip is if I hit a future or big golf win. I've thrown a dollar or two before if they actually helped me with something.
Had Scottie Scheffler at 45-1 that I bet 6+ months in advance of Masters and he ended up being like 12-1 before teeing off.
I threw the girl a $20.Comment -
#46I tip everyone. The more you give the better you feelComment -
#47All the person at the window is doing is giving what you are owed, they had no part in how you made your money, much like a bank teller.Comment -
#48Go read my story from earlier in this thread. I never said I give an auto gratuity every time I cash a ticket. If I win over 1k or if I had a conversation with a ticket writer that helped me make my selection I tip them.Comment -
#491 dollar bills and lose changeComment -
#50i used to give 10s-20s but now not frequently, sometimes spare change for some coffee or snackComment -
#51^^^ This is exactly what it feels like when I visit the US from a non-tipping culture.
It's fun and makes you feel good to hand around money.
The same people in the same jobs in Australia would look at you like you were insulting them as lower than you if you handed them a $5 cash tip.
I know I would not like it to be normal and everyday, but whilst on holidays it feels good..Comment -
#52The employer should be paying more
NEVER EVER TIPComment -
#53As I said in my original post, there's no reason to tip on a cash transaction, like at a tellers window at the bank for instance.
I tip, and more than the acceptable, what is it now, 18% on food delivered to my table at a restaurant, food deliveries to the door, bartenders for a drink...
Even if the table service at the restaurant was poor, I'll leave 10%
Under no circumstance will I tip on a cash transaction, I draw the line there.
it's bad enough with those hidden fees for online transactions.Comment -
#54they need to get rid of the little jugs when you go to pick up food asking for a tip. fcuk you. i am picking up my own food and paying your prices. what the hell do you need a tip for? you just got a huge markup on the pizza i paid for. pay the 17 yr skinny guy behind the counter more money so he can buy clearasil.Comment -
#55Like I said I only tip delivery drivers nobody else waitresses really should not be tipped all they’re doing is bringing foodComment -

Australians work more hours per week than any other country correct?Comment -
-
#5938 hours with 4 weeks holidays, 2 weeks sick leave and 2 weeks toward long service leave after 10 years is "standard". But I do not know if that is more or less than others..Comment -
#60I leave it up to my beards to tip at the windows.Comment -
#61Picked up my dry cleaning the other day and there was a tip jar on the counter. Sucks if you make $12/hr but wow.Comment -
#62In most professional jobs a tip jar is prohibited because it is considered a bribe. Could you imagine the judge at the traffic court having a tip jar? Then whoever wants a better fine will fill it in with money.Comment -
#63If the guys/girls at the window get to know you and they see winning piles of cash on a regular basis....it doesn't hurt to dash them a few +hundos..... most of them at the sportsbook window don't make alot pre-hour and they really appreciate it ....if you want respect show them respect... its that simple...Comment -
#64Back in the day a $20 tip meant unlimited drink tickets all night long.
Now all you have to do is ask.

#65Love guys that win $100 and tip $20
