Just my opinion, I think he faces a real litmus test this week. WASH has some studs in the defensive front 7, and looks like Chase Young will suit up, too.

If Brock has a good game vs a solid WASH defense, he'll have my full respect.

Good one, Enk. Yes, I'd have to figure that someone (other than Purdy) puts together a more eye-catching Stat Line.

Rookie of the Year is a nice award. Bigger fish to fry, though. If Purdy can lead the Niners to the SB, it would be historic.

This thing is starting to pick up some major steam. Pro Football Talk just named Brock as they're offensive Rookie of the Year. NFL Network in ESPN Outlets seem to be on the same boat too

Wow. Pretty amazing that he could win the PFT ROY in such a limited # of starts.

Q: Do you rate Purdy as BETTER than Garopollo?

Or is it a function of a strong roster? Go back to early in the season. I think most followers would say that Garopollo was an upgrade over Lance (based on experience).

Purdy does pass the eye test. He is more mobile, passes more accurate and not jaded yet. The real test is coming since we know that the playoffs are a different beast. Just to note I'm a Jimmy G backer.

Yes Chucky I think Brock is an upgrade from Jimmy. Like Frank said he's more mobile in the pocket. Gets the ball out faster sees the field better and more accurate. He has great poise,Jimmy would panic in the pocket and get Happy Feet.

Thanks, Frank and Nate. Just soliciting opinions. Specifically for how it might impact the #.

I think most NFL bettors would say:
*Lance to Jimmy G was a lateral move. Jimmy may have shown he's better than Lance (at this point).
*Think back to when Jimmy was injured. Had to drop the Niner PR by two pts.

Some flat out wrote off the Niners. Who is Brock Purdy?

I think he's good. Just one last comment. In the NFL, the QB gets too much attention.

Helps a lot to have a strong surrounding cast. QB gets too much credit when they win...and too much blame when they lose.

First time playoff appearance QB's have a very bad winning percentage. Keep this into consideration. Purdy and Geno are both first timers so they wash out.

That is true.

Still historic trends don't lie, most newbie QB's entering into the playoffs for the first time FAIL. It's just a fact.

I guess they feel the pressure and panic or the teams they play for just aren't really that good.

Is what it is though. Fade the newbies.
