#8Pretty bad. We have mud rivers flowing, sink holes and mud slides. That's what happens when you get a ton of rain in weeks time after a drought and the land is dry.
What is sad is that California is still in a drought because they don't know how to collect the rain fall water. It's all wasted into the ocean. Saw this on the news today that we are behind 30 years in technology and the ability to collect rain fall.
That's California leadership and preparation for you.
Break in the rain fall for 2 or 3 days now but it's not over.. Next heavy rain fall expected again in 3 days..Comment -
#9I will say living in Santa Monica, California 90402 I just put a new roof on my house. Had a small leak in my kitchen today and an ant farm coming in also. Not happy about this!
The rain and wind was really heavy though and leaks to be expected I guess even with a new roof. Sheets of heavy rain coming down like I haven't seen since the El Nino storm days in 1998.
I like it though, it's new to me and gives me a reason to stay indoors and bet sports all day!Comment -
#10I live in the 'worst' part. It isn't that bad.
Meaning, it's not as bad as the flooding the south gets.Comment -

Were you in CA in 1997-1998 when the powerful el nino hit and devastated so.many parts of CA? the storm was telegraphed by meteorologists and scientists for years. Not months. Years !!
And the CA governor at the time? Repub pete wilson.
Do you know the criticism he took for being unprepared?
I'll take your garbage I mean reply, off the air.Comment -
#12They’re showing hard hit areas, but my people said it’s overrated because the rain caught him off guard a large amount and the windComment -

Now back to California. Gee there's an Ocean right there if I remember correctly. A pretty big one at that. There is no excuse for having droughts in CA. The technology is there. The political will isn't. The environmentalists win. The people lose. Like always. But hey, get in line for your reparations while thousands are living on the streets.Last edited by DwightShrute; 01-11-23, 10:40 AM.Comment -

#24Jibby makes a good point actually. I live on an Island where there are no rivers or mountains but yet we have the some of the best drinking water in the world. How can that be? I am surrounded by Sea water. Do we import millions of plastic bottles from the US and Europe? Nope. We have huge desalination plants giving us clean delicious water right from the tap.

Sad thing is, we had the site, the funding, the plans - and I’ll give Newsom credit on this one thing, he pushed hard for it. But, the woke Tard ‘Coastal Commission’ was worried about the plankton or something, so it was scrapped. Funny thing is, there’s one in San Diego - magically there’s no ‘rationing’ there and everything is just fine.
Side note, I just love driving around So. Cal. in the pouring rain, we’ve known it’s coming for days and it’s going to be a lot. Yet, everywhere, I see houses, businesses, malls, road medians, etc. with the FU##ING SPRINKLERS ON!!!!!
Talk about something that should be a no questions asked $1,000 fine for the first offense. Second offense is prison…..Comment -

Oh and the sprinklers are running on timers, homeowners don't know how to turn on and off those timers when it rains hard, only the illegal gardeners that they hire do, they only come out once a week. Timer instructions are always written in Spanish. Gardeners won't come out and garden in the rain.
There you have it..
* I'll tell you one other thing it's great to have ROOFING business here in Southern California right now, you will have more work then you can handle! Can price gouge too!

Maybe instead of worrying about what bridges are ‘racist’, or if people are using the right ‘pronouns’, or the LBGTQQ++XYZPDQ community’s ‘right’ to teach children about perverted sex, how about a nice PSA from our wonderful Tard representatives here in So. Cal.
Go to Home Depot or Amazon, buy a sprinkler rain sensor for under $20, take 5 minutes and plug it into your sprinkler timer, and we’ll save MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF FU##ING PRECIOUS WATER!!!!!
But, nope, need more money and research for things like the banning of plastic straws or bringing your own bags to the grocery store….
FAIL…..
