#37I live in southwest Connecticut, I'm a UConn homer, I also follow Yale in the Ivy and Fairfield in the MAAC.
I live virtually next door to the Fairfield U. campus, the Stags suck monkey balls in all sports, but I like them not to mention my best friend graduated from Fairfield.
I watch a lot of MAAC games, Pitino's Iona team is tough, and as a huge Huky supporter this game scares me to death.Comment -

#41but, just because you mentioned that team I will toss a small amount on them. just for shitz and giggles.Comment -
#42VCU is so underrated. The A-10 is underrated. It's a crime they are only a 12 seed. I like St. Mary's, but VCU should beat them and then beat Connecticut.Comment -
#43It's amazing how many comments there are in here and yet not one comment that mentions an actual player on the court.
"Junior player, guaranteed NBA player, guaranteed NBA starter, 2 way player" etc etc.
Players win championships, not coaches. That's why Pop hasn't done anything since he lost Tim Duncan. That saracuse guy everyone was drooling over only won 1 ring in 50 years, and not surprising that it came from one of the best nba players of all time.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -
#44Unless I see comments that feature my criteria in the original post I will assume that they are all a bunch of darts being thrown. Until then I await the person to make the right argument so I can follow them on a future.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -
#45I think it will be Alabama vs Houston. But I could see Uconn or MarquetteComment -

#473 seed Gonzaga (no one talking about them)
9 seed Auburn (same)Comment -
#48all 3 teams are excellent Mid Majors
and all 3 are underdogs.
i see that group going 1-2 in the first round
only 1 advancing.
hope i am wrong. all 3 are tremendous squads.
FAU very young though
Kent St playing Indiana who is scary when their heads are in it.
VCU playing traditional mid major power Saint Mary'sComment -

#53VCU +4.5 seems like such a fukkin trap.
St. Mary’s is weirdly underrated. A few close ones go their way during OOC and I think they could be 3 seed.
They had a stretch early in the year where they lost to Washington, New Mexico and Houston all by less than two possessions.
Lots of people will be on VCUComment -
#54People lost faith in Saint Mary's because they got blown out by Gonzaga. But that championship game didn't really mean much to St Mary's and they were maybe fatigued them playing three days straight in a rowComment -

#56I think they may have been 12th seed as well last time they "shocked the world" and made final 4..Comment -
#57VCU is a great March Madness team, seems like they're always making a run but I think this year they got a bad matchup. first round outComment -
#58Yup, I got VCU for the slight upset, too.Comment -

Have vaulted them into a higher seed and we would look at them differently.
Having said that they were pedestrian down the stretch.
Honestly this is one of those games where I can’t talk my self into either side. VCU being a 12 seed is dumb. Rough draw for St Mary’s to have a solid season and then end up against such a good team.Comment -
#60Just take all the 12 seeds. Oral Roberts I don't like but you won't go wrong with the other 3.Comment -

#64As soon as the brackets come out, fans often target No. 12 seeds for first-round upsets, because past 12 seeds tend to stick out in everyone’s mind. However, teams seeded No. 12 have a 23-44 record since 2011, when the tournament expanded to 68 teams. No. 11 seeds, on the other hand, have gone 46-44 over that span, a huge contrast to their more sought-after bracket-busting brethren. In fact, No. 11 seeds actually have better records over the past 11 iterations than single-digit seeds such as No. 5s, No. 6s, No. 8s and No. 9s.

I like the school, the tradition, and the dogs they recruit, but they've disappointed me in the tourney most years do I have then losing in round 1.Comment -
#69Still waiting for one poster to discuss a contender's roster. Just reading general statements here about tough outs and trends. College basketball is usually dictated by the starting lineups. In the tournaments a lot of teams only have a 7 man rotation. It'd be so easy to cap this shit if I actually watched these snoozefest games.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -
#70I agree with Goater and can say the same thing about the lack of any discussion of probablities, even common opponents. There are recipes for success, they're rarely followed.
It's strange.
But yeah, a lot of top teams have talent that will not be denied.
I think the Big10 is suspect but Zach Edey could do what he wants when he wants against anyone he wants. Period. They key on him, and the team is exposed. But even if the key in on him, if he wants it he gets it.
So if he's down, Purdue is a beast to stop. If Purdue is in the Final Four, he will likely make a mark.
Kentucky too, Oscar Tshiebwe will be in the house.
Even Kendric Davis could get Kemba Walker dangerous, he's in Memphis. Memphis might play Purude, the winner of that could get far. Further, Memphis has DeAndre Williams, the forward. He's the oldest player in the whole dance this year.
The Zags have Drew Timme, is he NBA ready? UCLA's Jaime Jaquez good in college but probably over rated NBA. I dunno.
There are a lot of ballers, on a lot of teams. A lot of guys in this tournament will do very well in the NBA but won't get far in the tourney.
How about tonight, The Fairleigh Dickinson's guard, Grant Singleton, might get you the win tonight. He's sneaky good.
I could go on and on. There are good players sprinkled all over this mutherfukker.
Teams like K State, Memphis, Marquette, have multiple ballers.
The marquette Guard and Center combo with Tyler Kolek and Oso Ighodaro, could be dangerous. Take what I said about Memphis and kick it up a notch.
There's a lot to consider for sure. Brandon Miller at Alabama won't be denied either. At one point, two guys that will be NBA players and won't be denied will face off.
Brandon Miller might very well be the best player in the entire tournament.
A lot of talent in this tournament. I could go on and on.Comment
