I haven't been to Vegas since before the pandemic, but am planning a trip for next month. Can anyone tell me the current status in regards to the casinos, food, getting around, etc....... Is everything back to normal?
Anyone been to Vegas recently?

#2If you love weed and vagrancy, you're gonna love VegasComment -
#3But yes everything is back to normal.Comment -
#4back to normal, even buffets have been returningComment -

#6It’s just as trashy as it’s always been. Nothing has changed.Comment -
#7Vegas is back to normal now. Things are a lot more expensive and if you want to eat at a nice restaurant you need to make reservations.Comment -
#8The strip is very ghetto now.Comment -
#9Thing of the past. Garbage now. Go to a local Indian casino instead and or gamble online.Comment -
#10I haven't been to Vegas for a few years, but some friends just got back from a stay at the Cosmopolitan and they had a great time. From what I was told things are back to the way they were pre pandemic.Comment -
#11Not what it once was !!! If you stay within the better Casinos & don't leave U will be fine !!! If U go out & about there are nothing but THUGS who will ROB U & attempt to K-K your AzzComment -
#12Yep. There are a lot of incidents that don't make it into the daily news. Better to stay off-strip, like Red Rock, or South Point.Comment -
#13It's not the same as it used to be. Now there is a lot of crime and poverty. They days of wealth are gone in Vegas.Comment -
#14Going tomorrow. pavy is drunk - plenty of wealth there. Crime has risen a bit but in the ghetto areas for the most part.Comment -
#15Crime is high everywhere, not just Vegas. I think the weed smoking on the strip has attracted some unique people. It’s not your local stoner Brian Spicoli any longer…
Vegas is back to normal mostly. Always had sketchy people but show me a city that doesn’t. USA is a country struggling right now… no different here in Vegas. High costs, low wages.
Off strip: always fun. Red Rock, Rampart @ JW or South Point and Green Valley. Lots to do off strip.
As for the strip: Lots of restaurants only open Thursday - Sunday or have black out dates. A bit more expensive but what isn’t? The most noticeable thing to me is that hard to find $10 blackjack table is even harder to find. $25-$50 minimum almost everywhere now. I think Trop and The D still have $5 table games though. Cosmo, Wynn, Venetian, Aria and Bellagio have security crawling everywhere. They are doing solid convention business. The sketchy places are still sketch and will still be sketch after the next election and 10 years from now. I visit MGM properties weekly and feel safe. Circa downtown you can’t get in if you are riff raff. They check ID at the doors. Resorts World nice but they have a multiple lodging price points so you get a weird mix of people but still very nice. Over by old hard rock rough shape. Virgin Hotels- no clue how it’s surviving. MSGSphere almost in as well. Vegas is what you make it. Hit the Rhino and party. Cheers.Comment -

#19the best comment is "vegas is what you make it"
greatest city in the world, but if you let the bums get you down, or stay in weird places, it's depressing
i prefer wynn/encore, venetian/palazzo, or bellagio/aria areas... they do get pricey though... was at the aria a couple weeks ago and MINIMUM for pai gow is $100/hand even during the dayComment -
#20TI - 15$ BJ 3/2
Someone told me the old Hooters hotel has 10$ tables but that's not really my scene. Prefer classy joints like Ellis Island and The El Cortez.Comment -
#21Not everyone is a high roller like you Gaucho Loco, while i was at Freebirds daily you were at The Elephant Bar., must be nice!המוסד

#22Took wifey to a show and first thing we got hit with was 2 waters and a popcorn for $28.. .and they wanted a tip...Comment -
#23to me waters are like other drinks in vegas, you're gonna play before/after the show, or go to your room, why waste money on something that's free/cheap everywhere else? and i go back to the dean martin line about water... "i'm thirsty not dirty"Comment -

#29I like my crime ridden gambling haven much better than Vegas, not everyone can hang at a place like this. I go there 3-4 times a year, i will be back next week. I love this place but dangerous as hell.
https://vodenglish.news/crimes-in-sh...n-journalists/A sampling of local crime reports emerging from the city over the past two years include at least six reported cases of bodies found either in public locations or washed up along the beach; 19 homicides, assaults or firearms cases; 11 cases of extortion and detention; and some other serious crimes..Comment -
