#37Palace station tremendous remodel, great property off the strip
Was there last month, didn't spend 5 minutes on the strip.
Why go there when it's 6/5 blackjack and everything is WAY overpriced. Downtown far betterLast edited by Brock Landers; 03-23-23, 09:04 PM.Comment -

#39Still a great place and lots of fun. Been staying at Venetian/Palazo last couple of years. It does get old feeling like every time you visit the odds are more and more in their favor.Comment -
#40Also going tomorrow hoping to go the the elite eight game Saturday. If you like poker tournaments a hidden gem is the Orleans. Good payouts for 100 dollar tournament.Comment -

#42caesars points? you probably get screwed on the translation, but you can use them for sportsbook free plays, or brick and mortar casino free playComment -

Also some have some MGM rewards dollars left to use.Comment -
#44No reason for most here to even consider coming to VegasComment -

i think that lounge is only for top tiers, so the drinks would/should be comped if it wasn't for illinoisComment -
#47i like the grand victoria (elgin), and they have that goofball narrow lounge... but i think there is some stupid rule about liquor in illinois, i had to buy drinks even though i had a shitload of points

aurora seems far worse for dumbass broke sports bettors, when i'm in there it's usually 3-4 deep of people making a bunch of 10-team parlays
but that irish restaurant in aurora right across the river is good, other than 1 time with some chewy pulled pork, everything has been good. since these regional casinos only have their nice restaurants/steakhouse open wed-sat or thurs-sun or some other bullshitComment -
#49Does ellis island still have that steak dinner special you have to ask for only? Years ago was amazing price with like steak, beer, sides dessert for super cheap.Comment -
#50I just gamble there I don't eat at these joints. Judging by the line of people trying to get into the restaurant the last time I was there the answer is yes 😂Comment -
#51If you like the beer…then check out BrewDog near MGM Grand. It’s a rough top brewery with a great view. Yes it’s pricey, but you’re on vacation so enjoy.
Also Able Baker is a cool brewery near the Arts District. Great beer and atmosphere. Also a couple of other good breweries and bars nearby.
As others have said, Vegas is what you make it. So show up with a plan of where to go, where to eat and what type of entertainment you want and you will have a great time.Comment -

Village Pub & Cafe. Where 24/7 cravings for everything from the famous $9.99 Steak Special to Italian classics are satisfied at unbeatable prices!Comment -
#53Ellis Island steak and eggs is legendary!
I remember when the steak and eggs were $5.99 back in the day. Today it's probably $12.99 with a hotel tax added.

#54I remember heading to Vegas from Los Angeles on the 15.
We always stopped at the Primadonna, now known as Primm and Whiskey Pete's right there inside the Nevada stateline.
Whiskey Pete's had fitty cent shrimp cocktails and a decent steak and eggs deal. Always stopped there for those.
Good times.

#56^ I drove that 15 route many times to Vegas myself. Passing thru Victorville and Barstow.
We would always stop at either the Primadonna and Whiskey Petes and ride that roller coaster on the roof of the hotel.

it never reopened after covid, those pricks... now all they have is that bonnie and clyde car with the bullet holesComment -

The bonnie and clyde car. I remember that also.

#59Ok Buffalo Bills, it's been years for me since there, mixed up the names. It was always hit or miss if the coaster was in operation even long before covid. Many times I drove thru seeing the coaster was out of commission. Was a fun roller coaster when working.

i've had more good times in nevada than every other state combined, also more terrible times!Comment -
#60i remember riding that fukking thing when it was something like 120 degrees... nothing like hot wind and dust in your face lol... like that old amusement park at mgm grand, i burned my feet something awful on one of those rubber slides

Fun times back in the day. I'd drive to Vegas all the time from LA. I remember punching it in my new 1992 Lexus SC400 at the time and hitting 155mph and red lined it on the open stretches just to see how fast it could go. I'd look over to the side and see the Joshua trees were a visual blur close to the highway.
Oh the good ole days. Lucky I didn't die back then or get arrested and locked up. I always pushed it.Comment -
#61Always a good time when leaving Vegas with more money then what you came with. That's all I know!!

#62Just come back from Vegas and had a great time. I stayed at my favorite Casino SOUTH POINT. If you are worried about Prices then Vegas isnt for you. I spent some time at race book at South Point and had no wait for alcohol. Evey 10 minutes waitress asking us if we wanted a drink. They also have a great buffet and people line up for their $1.25 hot dogs at the sports book.Comment -

#68Cant agree more.
Stinks of weed EVERYWHERE. Cant walk early in the AMs anymore without winos, junkies, or that awful stench of weed every 5 minutes.
Used to enjoy hotel hopping but crowds are just worse than Wal-marts, that's saying something. Grotesquely obese (I'm 15 pounds overweight and embarrassed to wear a tight fitting T-Shirt) underdressed trash and super premium ghetto garbage everywhere imaginable.
Unless you are oblivious to this or ultra rich where you literally piss gold and shit bricks of it, you will be exposed at even medium class hotels which used to be premium ones (Luxor, MGM, Rio, Caesars, TI, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Mirage, etc.)
Worst was Sahara when I booked for overnight Biz trip last August, ghetto with a capital GH.
What I also hate is all the stupid Tijuana style flea market shops opening up literally in every direction. Do we really need a Ross on the strip?
Buffets have increased 2x and 3x in price and pretty much across the board cut quality immensely.
Summertime you can swap genitalia germs, oil-slick water suntan lotions and STDs in the summer with overcrowded pools, pay $100+ for couple beers and burgers poolside. No thanks.
Beautiful and classy city turned into a wasteland of scum of humanity. And I have to pay for this? I can just enjoy all this for free In Los Angeles, with a beach as a bonus at least.Comment -
#69^ Sounds almost as bad as San Fransisco now.Comment -
