I highly recommend finding some old Youtube videos of mid 80s Mid South Wrestling with Bill Watts when Jim Cornette was getting started in the business as a manager.

Cornette is a genius heel right out of the gate in his career.

Most people have seen older WWF/WWE and WCW stuff etc but this is a great watch for any wrestling fan.

Loved it when the Midnight Express/Jim Cornette tar and feathered a young Magnum TA with honey and chicken feathers. You couldn't get away with doing something like that nowadays.
