I'm surprised they couldn't trade him at all.

They were asking for way too much when they didn't have much leverage and Hopkins didn't really help his team out in that regard by going overboard with the speculation and the attention grabbing

Hopkins disease. Must be a problem for the team and a cancer in the locker room to just release him like that!

Yes sir. They have a terrible QB contract too. They want the #1 pick. I don’t know what for though… they will fukk it up.

Arizona is tanking for the #1 overall pick next season. They also have Houston's 1st round pick from the draft day trade, so they might have 2 top 5 picks next season. I think they will either trade or release Kyler Murray and draft Caleb Williams if they get the #1 overall pick

I don't want him playing for 'my' team.

Plus Mara doesn't like distractions like Hopkins.

He's a perfect fit for Belichick though.

No more Zeke, they don't have anything good at TE, Dak needs more than just Lamb.

They didn't trade him because they are a horrible organization run by morons. You could have easily, very easily, gotten a second round pick for hopkins. Or you could trade him for a veteran player you actually need. Instead, they released him and took a huge cap hit lmfao. The bozos that run these organizaitons never cease to amaze me.

I don't want him playing for 'my' team.

Plus Mara doesn't like distractions like Hopkins.

He's a perfect fit for Belichick though.
The Giants literally have no wrs. They are awful. They will never sniff a superbowl with that roster. There's only one elite playmaker on their entire team and he's a running back. They got blown the f out by philly in the playoffs and philly didn't even break a sweat.

Hopkins dumps on everyone in your giants organization talent wise. Guy called out the ridiculous cultures in Houston and Arizona, two of the shittiest organizations in NFL history. Why would a guy who's been a first team all pro who is still in his prime do that? Cause the guy wants to win, and he's surrounded by losers like Kyle Murray, a little rodent playing quarterback.

Easily? It's been a few months of rumors of him being moved and no team came forward with such an offer. Why allow him to hit free agency if you could EASILY have paid a 2nd round pick for a 30 year old wr? Happens ALL the time. It's a poorly run franchise but don't assume the rest of the league is also incompetent and has zero respect for draft capital. Deandre Swift was moved for a melted kit kat and a scratch off ticket and he's young. You don't pay a 2nd round pick AND a fat salary to a guy who has maybe 1.5 seasons left in the tank.

No they couldn't have. Teams weren't willing to give up that much unless Arizona took on most or all of Hopkins' salary

And seems you're not aware that Arizona is tanking this year. A veteran player has no use for them

The whole point of cutting him now was so they absorb the cap hit THIS YEAR and clear him from their books. Free agents aren't exactly beating down their doors to play in Arizona so who cares ???

Hopkins didn't exactly help their cause either flying around the country making videos with other teams players saying who he will and won't play with
