Time for the Angels to flip Giolito and Lopez on Tuesday when they could be technically 8 games back. This is coming from long time season ticket holder of the Angels. They need prospects.

Angels are in Atlanta for 3 games. So far, with Trout being out this time, they're 10-10 and being outscored by only 1, 104-103. 4 games out of a WC spot. Not the disaster I was predicting.

Well, the disaster is back. Angels dropped 2 of 3 in Atlanta and all 4 to Seattle at home. During this Trout injury, the Halos are now 11-15. Outscored 142-127 and 7 games out of a Wild Card spot. 50 games left to play, but most of those against winning teams.

Swept by Seattle. Ugly ugly. Their remaining schedule is rough.

During the current Trout injury, Angels are 15-20. Outscored 198-154. 7 games behind a WC spot. To get into the playoffs, Halos would have to leapfrog 4 teams. 40 games left to play, mostly against teams with winning records.

so far an accurate assertion in this thread title.

If the Angels are a .500 team with Trout, and that's pretty much accurate, and they are five games under without him, that would make Trout's WAR around 5.0 give or take. Five games better than any other OF replacement player.

Trouty just got reinstated. When he went out, the Angels were 45-43 (.511) and 4 games out of the WC.
Today they are 61-64 (.488) and 9 games out of the WC.
                          37 games left to play.

Put a fork in them, they're done.

Trout back to the IL after one f'n game and Ohtani done as a pitcher after being overworked by the hapless Angels.

Bumping this thread after just one month of the '24 season. Trout going under the knife again. Rinse and Repeat.
