Halos were holding off trading Ohtani by trying to make a Wildcard run. Playoffs are out of reach now with Trout gone for several weeks. Time to listen to Ohtani trade offers and actually make a deal.

#12Probable playoff scenario if the season ended today.
Problem for the Angels is the AL East is stacked and that division will get two WC's and the division winner.

Mario changed the game as did Gretzky. A top 5 QB of all time.
Definitely one of the best seasons ever for a QB. A lot of his ‘84 records stood 20+ years.

Dan Marino's Dolphins had just one 1000 yard rusher in 17 years.
Just one.
Is it any wonder why Marino aired it out, what? A gazillion times in his career?
He never had a backfield.Comment -

I know that's not a popular statement because everyone will say Brady is the GOAT. I will just say there is a top 5 club of the greatest all time QB's and depending on who you talk to, there will be around 10 QB's in the top 5. We can debate who they are but I will say Brady and Marino are in the top 5 for certain.Comment -
#19To me, there is no one QB that's the greatest. Is it based on championships only? To me, Dominik Hasek was the greatest goalie in NHL history but only wo 2 cups.

Strange injury.
SAN DIEGO — Star outfielder Mike Trout was optimistic about his chances of returning to the lineup as quickly as possible after he joined the Angels’ swelling injured list Tuesday, but a blister issue likely will prevent Shohei Ohtani from pitching in the All-Star Game next week.
Trout was diagnosed with a hamate fracture in his left wrist, which can take four to eight weeks to heal. The Angels did not give a timeline for his recovery from the injury he suffered during Monday night’s series-opening loss in San Diego.Comment -

#24Trout has become injury prone over his last 4 years reaching 100 games once. This is why I am totally against the huge contracts. If they do decide to trade him, they will probably have to carry much of that salary.
In my opinion, if the Angels are smart, they should get rid of Othani and let another team have to deal with paying half a billion dollars. I’m sure every time Othani pitches, most of the Japanese people in LA are at the game. But as he ages, injuries willl happen..Comment -

Don't put words in my mouth please.
Young children need people to look after them the same as dogs do.
Anyone who knows the first thing about me knows I place a premium on loyalty.
All my dogs I've ever had were loyal to me 100 percent.
How many of you can honestly say get that kind of kind of respect back from your friends.
Of course it's out jobs to teach the children.
What I find concerning is how many people put material things like cars and money above children and animals.
Carry on.Comment -

Dogs are Loyal to a fault. Many breeds are much smarter than most people think.
Some are actually smarter than their owners.
I was going to respond further about how children became a comparison, being as Nash never mentioned children, but what's the point. It's not like I'm talking to my daughters American Bulldog "Sonny" who knew more than most humans she met. Now her other one, "Luca", yeah it's a Godfather thing, well not the sharpest pencil in the drawer, but still loyal as hell.Comment -

lol
Those who never had dogs don't get it.
I'm not even being dramatic here when I say my youngest JRT got between me and a large dog thinking I might be in danger, with no regard for his safety.
Yeah, excuse me if I have trouble with those who train dogs to attack other dogs for wagering purposes and their own amusement.
That's what I call concerning.Comment -

I didn't mean to "rattle your chain" or upset you.
Don't be "childish", I never put words in your mouth.
The care and training of animals and children wasn't in the equation.
I merely stated that ...
I find it curious how many Americans have elevated their concern and love
for animals above that of children.
Let your fur settle.
I remember a great poster Paco used to go dog hunting on the mean streets of Detroit.

I'm more of a ASPCA guy than a PETA dude.
PETA's aim is true, but they are so over the top extreme.
When I first met my wife eighteen years ago, she picked me up at the Amtrak station with Cooper (The Wonder Dog)
Up until that point I was never a dog owner, nor my parents.
Up until that point I was ambivalent when asked if I liked dogs.
I was always like "Dogs? They're kind of cool I suppose"
Then Cooper happened, and everything changed, we fell in love with each other from the get go.
Cooper and I are were best buds for almost 20 years.
(That's Cooper in my avatar, he's eighteen years old there)
He crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this past October, he was 19 1/2.Comment -
#33Mike Trout is a HOF'er if he never plays another game again. Almost 1.000 career OPS, 13th best ever and leader among all current players for career. 3rd best in the last 50 years behind Bonds and Manny.
You have a strange definition of bust.Comment -
