I'm a Mets fan and the Mets are the biggest embarrassment of ALL TIME MLB!
Period I felt bad for Cohen but he hasn't realized how bad Eppler is and released him.
He actually allowed him to pivot at the deadline to maybe prolong his Met life.
Deadline moves HORRIBLE we gave up Max Verlander and Robertson 3 valued pitcher PLUS 100 MILL!!!
We didn't get a top 60 prospect in return with the new rankings we got 68 96 98 are you kidding ME!!!!!
You have to ditch Eppler even if you hire a clown get rid of this TURD
The Mets have dug a 4 to 5 yr hole

And yes I realized we got Acuna's brother but currently he is hitting 171 in AA I guess because he is now a Met
He also dropped from 41 to 68 with the new rankings. But the kid does have speed.

The Padres brass are delusional and not only didn't sell but added on to a team with numerous clear flaws. Now Snell and Hader likely walk for nothing and Padres miss the playoffs. I saw this coming from a mile away and wanted to sell Snell, Hader, Lugo and Soto at the deadline and retool for future years.

That would have definitely been the SMART thing to do. Minus well stock up with some decent prospects knowing full well you will more than likely lose key players via free agency during the offseason. I also read an article the other day where Juan Soto was questioning the teams character. that is the number one sign of a team in turmoil and dissension when you have athletes starting to point fingers and becoming clubhouse and locker room distractions.

I like to think I can admit when I am wrong, the Mets showed some character in the comeback Sunday, doesn't change the fact even though Cohen has pretty much unlimited resources he's not the right owner for that team.

There are a few exceptions to the rule. like Steinbrenner's Catfish Hunter and Reggie Jackson's Yankees for instance, but you can't just go out and buy up a MLB Championship.

Remember now, it took a year long plus suspension of Steinbrenner in order for Gene Michael and his young 22 year old intern Brian Cashman to develop Posada, Jeter, Andy Pettitte and the other kids from Columbus AAA to produce that dynasty, those teams were all home grown, same with 2014-2015 KC Royals, they were all developed by GM Dayton Moore and produced from the Omaha AAA system.

Rarely can you 'buy' a 'chip, you can add on, but you really can't buy a trophy unless you go to the hardware store.

AJ Preller needs to get canned. He is great at building a farm system but that's about it. He has proven that he has no clue how to construct a sustained winning Major league roster. Many of the trades and free agent signings he has made have been disasters.
