SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants announced Friday that manager Gabe Kapler has been dismissed in the wake of a disastrous September collapse that left them out of the playoff picture for the second consecutive year. Kapler earned NL Manager of the Year honors after helping to steer the Giants to

          I missed that post.
Yeah, he's good to go from what I hear, NYG should beat Seattle in the swamps of Jersey, we usually have a difficult time up there against them in Washington State though.

Hmmm. I don't think Kapler had a lot to work with anyway. Seems like the scapegoat here. The pitching really failed them down the stretch.

Totally agree. They had that one season with 100+ wins out of nowhere and I feel like he overachieved with what he had to work with.

Amazing that he was the only manager fired this year. Has MLB ever gone an entire year without a firing?

Just to kind of piggyback off some the previous posts, I see a lot of Giant fans are pissed and angry at the GM Farhan (sp?) for basically putting a garbage product on the field. He should have been fired as well! To be more specific, the Giants owners and GM are a bunch of cheapskates who didn't put any decent talent or make any moves to get some key and pivotal players before the trading deadline. can't really expect much or any kind of miracle with only two decent starters and a lot of unproven rookies on your team. But to be fair, although Kapler seem to be the scapegoat and fall guy this year for the Giants failures, aside from one good year, he's been a mediocre .500 manager and that includes two seasons with the Phillies were he was also fired for the team underachieving!
