#38Texas -105 (Game 2)
I've been watching Jordan Montgomery pitch since breaking in with the Yankees.
He's a crafty lefty with a nasty arsenal.
As I like to say crafty lefties are a difficult fade.
I know, I couldn't hit a LHP especially ones who threw offspeed for shit.
And I've caught my fair share of ones myself.
Texas has the clear starting pitching matchup in this one and their sticks should not have problem vs. Rodriguez as well.

I'm hardly a Mets fan but I liked him back then too.
I forgot who said it, but somebody said Phils starters are horse crap, personally I have no problems with Nola and Wheeler.
You can't breathe easy though when fading Atlanta, those bats can put up a five burger in a New York minute.
I'll say it again though, good pitching will usually beat good hitting, that's pretty much proven.Comment -

#53I'm going to wait and see how the line moves this afternoon but Houston at + money with Javier is enticing.
No play on Texas later, I have a pending series wager there, I'm up 2-0 in games, I don't like laying the lumber even though Eovaldi is my guy, I'll just make popcorn and watch.
*Johnny*
As a favor to me, please wait until the game is over before patting me on the back.

#55I like Philly with Nola later, thing is the Braves haven't announced their starter as of yet.
Plaadt (Arizona) is a punching bag, LA Dodgers is the play there.Comment -

#63OK, here we go.
I'm throwing out my handicapping book, this pick goes against everything I preach, which is start with the starting pitching first, and Atlanta has the demonstrative edge there.
I can't fade the Phils based off of recent performances, and without a freak game ending DP Monday night, we wouldn't even be here now, yet we are.
This has become baseballs best rivalry now (Atlanta/Philadelphia)
Look for Phils to scratch out enough runs off of Strider to advance to the NLCS.
Phils +130 tonight.
Hit my lone play last night.

#67Philadelphia -175 Arizona +150 Series (DK)
On paper Philly should win this series, and I agree.
Two things, I don't like laying -175 on most anything, it's just my philosophy.
I'll occasionally lay the chalk with anther chalk in a two team parlay, but that's it.
Secondly, the Diamondbacks are on a magic carpet ride, and I can't fade that.
Doesn't mean they'll win, I'm just saying that team believes, and that's a tough fade.
Pass, but it'll be fun watch.
I'll jump in on individual games during the series, I'll post my spot plays here.
Texas (1-0) -175 Houston +150 (0-1) Series (DK)
Talk about magic carpet rides, Texas has been very kind to me so far sweeping both Tampa Bay and Baltimore.
6-0 in the post season after gifting the Houston Astros the division title on the last day of the regular season.
That's ancient history.
I'm on Texas for this series (read above) Texas has Montgomery and Eovaldi and Houston doesn't is the main reason.
Pitching usually wins, good pitching will usually neat good hitting.
That's proven.
I'm playing Texas today in game two with Eovaldi.
I've bet him every start in this postseason, and there's no reason to stop.
Valdez is Houston's starter.
Mediocre numbers this past regular season.
12-11 ERA 3.45
He is a high volume strike out pitcher, and he did have a stellar 2022 season, that's past history.
This is what I think, my opinion and mine alone.
On paper this game this afternoon looks to be another low scoring contest.
The total is 8.5 flat, and that seems a tad high.
I lean under, problem is both teams have thunder sticks that could sink that under.
Game two
Houston -120 (Valdez) Texas (Eovaldi +100
Total 8.5
My play
Texas +100 (Even) Eovaldi only
Enjoy your rare sports Monday all.
Two great playoff games and a solid MNF football game as well.Comment -
