After today's results: Rams 68%.

Big loser of the day = Vikings. Down to 26%, and they had a real chance to win it late.

The NFL Tie-breakers can be maddening. And frankly, there has to be a better way to do it.

Rams go to Giants next week. I know the Giants have been better of late. But you have to beat someone.

Det/MIN result had huge playoff implications. Mullens really gagged late. I watched most of the game. Jefferson is truly amazing, has to be the top WR in the league. Detroit 2ndary knew the ball was going to him and still struggled to control him.

What's the point of just making it though?

IMO if you aren't above .500 you should not be allowed in and certainly not hosting a playoff game.

2) I've been saying for a while that the NFL needs to re-consider the rule where Division winners host the first game. 4/5 game should be hosted by team with better record. Dallas is facing the same prospect as last year, being the top-wildcard but having to play on the road against an inferior team (Tampa Bay).

Re-visiting this thread. A few personal comments:

NFL 2024 Standings

1) The NFL brass has to be loving the results coming in.
...Such a great season for intrigue.
...As we go down to the last two weeks, it's hard to find many (any?) games that don't have playoff implications.
...And the teams out of it would love to play spoiler. That's the competition aspect of the league.

2) I thought the Niners might have the 1-seed locked up b4 the 17th game.
...Not so after the Balt loss. They will likely need to beat the Rams to lock up the 1-seed.
...Some damage to the Rams ticket. Niners won't be gift-wrapping that game.

3) Two games really tilted the NFC Wildcard standings:
...Rams' 2nd win over SEA, and SEA win over PHI.
...To the Seahawks' credit, they pulled out that late win vs PHI. Swung the percentages back in their favor.

Lastly, I know people blow off the wildcards with less than great records. I don't look at it like that. Just need to make the field. Don't have to be the best team over the course of the year. Just need to perform in the limited number of playoff games, just like the NCAA Bask tournament.

I believe the Niners can clinch next week vs WAS because they hold all the tiebreakers. Rams just need to take care of business in NJ.

Jake, Eagles can still get to 13-4. I'm not counting on them losing to the Cardinals.

But yes, Rams just need to win at NYG.

How do the Niners play the next game? I'm thinking that Darnold starts in place of Purdy.

Niners have had injury problems. Have to think McCaff/Trent/Deebo sit out.

I don't mind losing like that, we played with a ton of heart, plus Rams are very likeable, they're easy to root for.

Incredible to think a few weeks back, Rams were 3-6 and down 10 second half to 6-3 Seattle. Now look where each team is?

And LA won that one on a missed 55-yarder by Seattle's kicker.

I'm a fan of the Rams because I live in LA. I think their defense is a liability though. They will get ousted early on in the playoffs unfortunately.

Trivia: The Rams have been consistently productive during their 2 tours in Los Angeles. In the 57 years they have played there, they have made the playoffs 25 times. They only have 2 championships.

Cowboys and Philly look like crap lately on defense. Rams are playing with house money, no pressure, wouldn't be shocked at all if they beat one of the two in a matchup. It's the NFCS champ that is damn sure not winning a playoff game.

There's only one super team, that being SF.
Eagles have flaws, they're a shell of what they were last season.

I can't trust Dak in the playoff, he's a 2-4 post season QB and a pick six waiting to happen.
The next time Dak gets out of the second round will be his first time.

All the other Wild Card teams are a clown show.
Bucs? Please. if they win that South Division, it's because they sucked the least in that division.

SF should sleepwalk to the Super Bowl, I'll take my chances with Purdy and that stacked offense.
