How is total passing yards a "cherry-picked" stat?

nix stats were slightly better than penix......nix and penix were outstanding stats and big winning teams. Daniels was good team and awesome stats... Then after championship saturday, penix was wins (and good stats), Daniels was mega-stats. nix was neither... How hard is that to understand?

you need to get your eyes checked. you are losing bettor if you cannot see the difference in these:

Penix total Ints of 9 nearly matches Jayden and Bo COMBINED INT's

yes, but almost lost them some games too.

- at Arizona 0 Tds passing/running

- vs Arizona State 0 TDs and 2 Int's. they only won by 8 points. the only TD was a defensive return for 6.

- at Oregon State just 46% completion pct.

- vs pedestrian Wazzu only 54% passing and threw an INT

he put up his biggest stats against bad teams.

he struggled in some big games. in the P12 title game he went 1-1 TD/Int ratio.

i have nothing against the kid. he is likable and i root for him.

But Jayden simply had a season for the ages. one of the top 5 stat years of any QB in history in terms of completion pct, TD-INT ratio, rushing yds and TD's and overall production.

it was a no-brainer.

it was the only stat where Penix was comparable to Nix. literally the only one. and that, by .017% LOL

You have to factor in the timing of the votes. You can't "raise stock" for an award that's already been handed out.

He'd probably rather be chasing a chip anyways and cementing his NFL stock.
