How can the Birds be favored (Eagles -2.5) on the road against Tampa Bay after that miserable 1-5 finish in their last six games? Granted Tampa won the weakest division in the NFC but nothing is going right for Philly now. What am I missing?

Eagles sucked it up going down the stretch but Tampa Bay isn't a power house either.
Flip a coin I say and close your eyes. Slight lean Philly if I must though.

Tampa had a few impressive wins this year, but for the most part play in the worse division in the NFL this year. Panthers got shut out their last 2 games and only won 2 games. The Saints didn't beat anyone and neither did the Falcons.
Philly won the SB last year. They almost repeated as division champions in a division that has NOT had a repeat champion in almost 2 decades?
The question you should ask yourself, is why wouldn't Philly be about a FG in this situation?

Philly lost SB last year, albeit in a close game. Neither team is rolling into the playoffs on a high, although the Bucs making it in a "rebuild" year is a bonus. Philly on the other hand is a disappointment after the way they started the season.

This is not the same Philly team as last year. It was smoke and mirrors to get to 11-6. They could have just as easily finished 5-12 on the season.

did you watch Tampa v Carolina?
Baker is beat up, ribs... ankle... limping off the field all game and scrambled for yards I think once in the game
inside of offensive line was awful and getting worked and they couldn't run the ball consistently
just lucky they played the worst team in the league
the Eagles got bailed by having to play on the road v Tampa

Eagles are a broken team you outsiders have 0 clue. They want Nick Out. The players have turned on the big mouth moron. If u bet the eagles u deserve to lose. The Eagles also had a better roster than the Cardinals with everything to play for and look wtf they did. This team could easily of been 7-10 don't forget that. Lol 6 points fav week 3 now not even a FG fav! They want all your Eagle bets.

Dude. This isn't about who to bet, its about if the line being at -3 is wrong. At least, that's why I thought. I'm saying the line is about right to me before I cap the game. I dont know who I take right now.

No one turns on their own team quite like Eagles fans, polar opposite of Cowboy fans who are delusional to their very core.
So since the Bucs are going to score 12 points you want us to believe that the Eagles are incapable of scoring that many themselves? I mean yes their defense is comical but i think that's coaching more than talent outside of the geriatric dbs. Losing Hargrave was as big as expected and they can't keep a lb on the field for more than a few games. But we are talking Baker Mayfield with plausibly no bad weather conditions and a coach who looks like he's taking a shit the entire game. Cardinals were free-rolling the whole season so pulled off several upsets, probably wouldn't let that game influence too much now that the games actually matter. They basically ended up with a bye week while the Cowboys actually have to face off a more well-rounded team in Green Bay. Maybe that little evil genius Howier cooked this whole thing up, playoffs were never a doubt, who they played and where was the only question. You can take over the stadium here in Tampa with ease, fair weather fans all day in Florida, but apparently in Philly too...

Have you seen the Eagles offense vs the Blitz? All Tampa does is Blitz? Not one hot read to be seen in last 9 games. No motion No adjustments this is just the offense. Lol go back and watch the coaches all 22 films Lol dropping your best pass rusher into coverage every other play on defense. Never engaging a receiver and lately they can't stop the run. Unless the Eagles were sandbagging the past 2 months they get boat raced here just like they did 2 years ago. I'm not turning on anyone btw this team is broken trust me.

I didn't realize that Carolina got shut out two games in a row, that's ridiculous in this day and age. When was the last time that happened?

I think Alexander has been hurt he's a top corner. That's strange anyway because they've been drafting plenty of secondary last few years if I recall. Guess those players are not there yet.

How are they getting boat raced? The Bucs are the worst team in the playoffs. "The Eagles are broken" is the narrative that will be tossed around all week but we know how that usually backfires. It's not asking a whole lot of Philly to put together one more good performance, turning the narrative to "uh oh, did they flip the switch?" before reverting back to their former, putrid selves in the divisional round and getting ousted.
I think the range of outcomes in this game is fairly wide but I wouldn't expect the Eagles to come out listless and flat. If they get rolled by Tampa, I actually would be shocked.

The line has moved from -2.5 -120 to -3 +100. The money line has correspondingly moved a few points as well. That adjustment makes sense to me.

They had two wins. You're saying that the only time they led in the 4q was when the game-ending FGs went thru at 0:00.
That's amazing. Wow, they were bad:
*They made Beathard look good.
*And TBay was begging to get beat on Sunday.
Popgun-arm Young. I thought he was over-rated. How many years til he's out of the league?
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Boat raced probably not but I can definitely see them losing. That team chemistry from last year is gone. Hurts is playing hurt and picked up another injury on his throwing hand against the Giants. AJ Brown hurt his knee too. He probably plays but nowhere near 100%

This could be the get right game for the Eagles, still on the fence about this matchup. If my Browns -2.5 -110 & Rams +3.5 -125 games cash might be willing to make a decision on this game.

I pretty much agree with your take. I could easily see the Eagles in control here for long stretches and fold at the end which would typify their season.

Mayfield was limping around the whole game last week and is dealing with ribs as well.
I know the Eagles are a mess but if they lose here, I think they become a certified train wreck.

The line always tells you something, and this time it's telling me that bettors still see Philadelphia as the dynamic team that went to the Super Bowl last year. I'm a fan who has followed them all year and something changed after that Niners game. Slay suddenly gets surgery, they change defensive coordinators mid-season, and their offense goes completely bland and predictable. At first glance it looks like they might be playing possum and getting everyone healthy for the playoffs but that locker room has changed. Something is definitely going on behind the scenes but no one is sure what the hell is happening. All I'm sure of is they miss Shane Steichen calling the plays because everyone knows what they're calling on offense. We'll know what is going on by the end of the 1st qtr because if they don't come out guns blazing on offense? Then they're done. They're not a come from behind team.
