#177I was holding my nuts when Texas had 1st and goal. Then Sark calls a dumb ass pitch and then the scoop and score and all was well with the world. Coaching matters…Comment -

#184GL on the future, Mac:
1) You know that I've been high on the roster since Day One.
2) Think I've been on them four times. Went 4-0 ATS.
3) The OhioSt Off Line injuries showed up in the 2h.
4) Howard is playing really well. I'd be much more confident in Howard (w/ these WRs) going into this game (than Leonard).
5) My only hesitation is that people have now seen the Buckeyes play three good games. The bandwagon is awfully full.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#194You have a point. But the truth is that OhioSt was inconsistent over the course of the season.
Go back and look @ the games. There were times where they were < dominant.
Early line move is on Not Dame. I think that's fairly telling. Personally, I'll be rooting for a good game.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

but they are peaking at the right time. they are clicking on all cylinders in all 3 phases of the game.
if howard is healthy the whole game, i will be pretty shocked if notre dame wins.Comment -
#196So far, so good.
Chiefs +450 SB future could end up looking just as easy, but probably not

The only way they lose this game is if Day coaches stupid and scared. There’s still a chance he gets outcoached. I’m tempted to hedge a little bit because of him. I was hoping the line would have exploded up not down.Comment -
#198Well what do you know. OSU was a fricken, immortal, deadbolt lock.Comment -
#199Good call, Mac.... crazy to think that in the old 4-team format the Buckeyes don't even make the playoffs and get a chance to chase glory, meaning Day would've ended the year with that dreadful loss to Michigan and the fans would be camped out on his lawn with torches and pitchforks. Buckeyes and Day earned it. Best team this year.Comment -

Got to see what teams are stockpiling talent in the offseason. That’s the biggest thing a team needs to win it all.Comment -

#202Thanks Chucky. I hate tying my money up for so long but it feels great now. Hindsight I should have bet the farm. I’ve never seen a team as stacked as this team. One of the best teams ever as far as talent and yet they still lost 2 games. Crazy…Comment -

#207Yeah, I’ve never subscribed to the old BCS where only 2 teams got in. Especially when teams got in playing horseshit schedules. This playoff showed that the #7 and #8 teams both made it to the championship game. 1-6 got bounced early. What teams can perform when it counts most. OSU had the bodies to weather a 4 game gauntlet. I hope they go to 16 teams but 12 was damn sure better than 2 or 4.

1) Getting +500 on this play was great value. Makes you wonder how it wasn't +200.
...I thought Georgia was overrated going into the season, based on name recognition. The OhioSt roster was much better.
2) I posted notes that were similar to yours early in the season.
...I couldn't believe they were Dogs @Oregon in the pre-season lookahead lines.
...Even though they lost that game, +1.5 would have cashed ATS.
3) Your point about the first year of the 12-team playoff is KEY. How does that impact team motivation?
...I won't say the game @Oregon was irrelevant. But you KNEW both teams would probably make the playoffs.
...Similar point on the game vs MICH. It's a huge rivalry, but OhioSt knew they were in the playoff field.
...It's really about peaking and finishing the season. How did 13-0 work out for Oregon?
4) This OhioSt roster was loaded (as you've said).
...They were motivated after all the MICH losses. Not to BEAT Mich, but to win the National title.
...They even stole two top players from Alabama.
5) Props to QB Will Howard.
...I rarely say this. I was thoroughly impressed.
...I didn't think of him as an NFL prospect, but now I do. He throws a great ball, and he showed he could run (too).
...I have to wonder what Kansas St was thinking. How could they bench him in favor of the young QB Avery Johnson?
Anyway, props again on a great cash. Happy for you.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -
#208I expected OSU to struggle early with new players and get better as the season progressed. I expected OSU to lose a game or 2 because of Day being a bozo. He really pissed down his leg at the end of the first Oregon game. I did not expect them to lose to a depleted Michigan. I still don’t understand what the hell happened there. I almost bet the house on that game. I’m so glad I only lost a little. But that loss might be as important as when Tebow lost and made “The Promise”. I think that inspired the team and they’re playing with house money.

If they had a metric for Coll QB with the best leg-strength, all-time winner might be Tim Tebow. Army's 2024 Bryson Daily is close.
The Tim Tebow post-game speech after Ole Miss is legendary. I think they posted it in the locker-room in The Swamp.
What a fantastic player Tebow was. And he helped me cash a few ATS tickets back in the day. I still say that he got short-changed as an NFL QB, just b/c his skill-set was so unique.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -
#209Tebow’s promise is posted on a plaque outside the Swamp. I believe some losses are great losses.

#210That's awesome, Mac. And Timmy backed it up. He used to run summer practice, as if it was a coach.
Plenty has been written about Timmy. I know that he was a thoroughbred and an All-Time great.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment
