Entered a 50k NFL Survivor Pool ($1000 buy-in)

So far only 13 entries including myself so if it stays under 25 this seems like solid value. Rn I'd have a 1 in 13 chance of winning risking 1k to win 50k. You could see there's not much value in entering the other 50k & 100k pools based on all the entries. 1k buy-in should really limit that. Going Ravens this wk coming off that loss to KC with an extra 3 days rest.

* I'd gladly take any & all suggestions since you could only take a team once & never again so there are probably better options than the Ravens based on upcoming schedule & match-ups.

Been doing it for 15+ years. Best bet for your $$ as 50% plus of local pools are mom's and pop's and dead $$. With that being said, the cheap tools available today take a huge edge away that was there 10 years ago.

Figured it was something with Variance

In this particular setting of never getting to use a team again, I'd hate to get later into the season and not be able to use the Ravens! And then double that getting what I think is great value with the Colts right now and Chargers imo. Can you enter twice? I want action!

I highly disagree^ There’s a level of strategy to be had here. Picking the biggest favorite of the week right out of the gate certainly can’t be it. Once you use up the ravens, chiefs, bills, fins, etc who do you have left in week 7 and beyond? Coin flips at best.

We try to discourage posters making money deals on the forum.

You two might be fine but when it becomes a normal thing, it attracts scammers. And us gamblers are kind of prone to "gambling" and get caught out pretty often. When SBR was at it's peak it was taking multiple staff to keep on top of it there was so much attempted fraud going on. That's why it was outlawed in the end.

If you must do this stuff, please stick to PMs so as not to normalize it and encourage the problem again.

This is the pothole of survivor and all football betting. Saving picks for later is great, but value is PERCIEVED at best. The NYJ are another example of when to use given Rodgers health. You better know who the backup QB is.

Spend the $40 on TeamRankings now PoolGenius. Thank me later. The Data Grid is worth $200 by itself. What you'll learn there will be worth thousands. 15/20 years I developed this myself, and very few had this kind of edge.

Also check out the Circa casino contest. That's my dream. I have a few people interested in buying a piece of me. I would need 10K for 10 entries. You have to be in LV to enter, or you need to have a proxy. (there's a whole profit center there by itself)

Obviously won't be doing that. (If the Jets lose today, I'm 100% picking them next wk [Thurs game] not to fall to 0-3 with NE at home). It means I might be eliminated next wk but that's why I went with the Ravens today. Pretty much a "must-win" based on their schedule regardless of being the "largest fav" today.

Rather lose wk 2 than wk 18. I'd like to say it was fun while it lasted, but it really wasn't.
