Added game to NCAAB ... Coppin St. Over

Not a fan of betting games that are under 120 pts.

But I'm going to take at face value.

Here is my process... for NCAAB...

I really one have one season's worth of data but it is about 10K games. I tightened it up significantly but I am trying to find more high quality games to bet.

I am trying to bet at least 1% of the games per category. Overs, Unders, Away +, Home +, Away-, and Home -. I got 2023 Overs up to 90% range.

It is hitting around 63% in 2024 for overs. Tonight I will try and find additional Under bets in the past. I am a very high success rate in the past just not very many games. I need to find more bets per category So far my Under category for 2024 4-0 using current algorithms.

I know I launched on 29th unsuccessfully and lost on 30th also so I took a step back. I actually backtested 2024 to Nov 21st and did my launch then. I will continue to tweak but I am getting more comfortable that the system is ready to produce good numbers.

NBA on fire... something like 13-3 but it doesn't produce a bet every night. I am not touching that one at all.

So after the upgrading... it did at Coppin St. Over 117... I guess we will see how the next couple of weeks goes.

I am going to count the first two days as 0-6 even though I am using updated algorithms now. Last night 3-0... so 3-6 to start... lets see where the next month takes me.

I apologize for the Coppin State... bet...

I found a bug in my program. I had the amount of teams capped at 348 but only on 2 statistics. But one of the statistics was total shots taken. The only reason I caught it is that I was watching the game and Wagner wasn't remotely pushing it up the court.

Regardless, you shouldn't have bet the over on Coppin St. The last couple of teams in the alphabet had the wrong stats. Wagner had the stat in two categories of a complete other team.

I cringed and checked 2023 ... it wasn't the case there... If it was... any team that was a W or later I would have had to throw out the data and the game results.

It feels like a major mistake but I guess in reality we are only two weeks in and it only affected things if you bet on a team that started with a W or later.

Now I need to root for the bet to come in regardless.

I think looking at just the past couple weeks could be misleading. What if a really good team plays say Detroit and Philly in back to back weeks. That would make the team look worse than they actually are. I would imagine you would weigh how they do for entire year and somehow account for what they have done lately.

I appreciate the feedback... but it is obvious... I am behind the times. My system is picking Buffalo and Philly now... it should have been picking them a week ago maybe two weeks ago.

And there is so much parity in the NFL... I think I need my system to be cognizant of the teams mentality week to week.

NFL program weighting

For NFL, can you look at the last 3 weeks equally and then blend in the game from 4 weeks ago at a lesser weighting? Something like that. I'm thinking you want to factor in at least the last 3 weeks (games), and 2 weeks is not enough as there is too much recency bias (IMHO). Sometimes teams are just off on one given week, but if it continues then that is certainly a trend. Just something to consider FWIW.

My football program said to not bet the game. But... I know West Point... tough environment both environmental and societal.

As my programs progress throughout the seasons... I have an insight...

When I produce the projected numbers each week, people ask why aren't you betting those games if that is what your numbers state. Early on my numbers aren't nearly in line because I don't have access to the data that Vegas does so I produce my projected outcomes and then have to filter games based on past data.

I analyze what type of games hit and what type of games did I lose. I analyze attributes of games to see what I have missed. Then I try to update my program to account for those mistakes.

However, what I am also realizing is that my projected numbers 2/3rds through the season are good numbers. They are producing more winners than losers.

So I will update accordingly...

NFL is looking better. My projected outcomes seem to become more accurate after 2/3rds of the season. NFL looking good picks already posted. NCAAF bowl season posted. NBA lost last night on Cleveland but still above 70%.

I think NCAAB is going to start generating real results.

Heads up... on NFL and NCAAF...

I noticed that my systems were coming in pretty solid with just the projected numbers. Once the season gets about 2/3rds through. So I loosened it up to include those picks.

NFL has 4 bets... College Bowl Season has a bunch of bets... That will be an extremely interesting follow.

Yes Redrum, look further right to get all the bets. I continue to tweak NCAAB to try and get it profitable. It was my best model last year and it has let me down.

NBA has two bets tonight and still hitting over 70%. How bad was Army? Disgraceful.
