The second bowl game on Friday features 9-4 Tulane vs 7-5 Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa at 3:30 PM ET on ESPN2.

    Tulane Opt-Outs:

    Darian Mensah, QB (transfer portal)
    Kai Horton, QB (transfer portal)
    Ty Thompson, QB (transfer portal)
    Shaadie Clayton-Johnson, RB (transfer portal)
    Trey Cornist, RB (transfer portal)
    Angelo Anderson, DL (transfer portal)
    Matthew Fobbs-White, DL (transfer portal)
    Parker Petersen, DL (transfer portal)

Betting impact from SBR's Rob Paul:
"The Green Wave took a major hit with QB Darian Mensah entering his name into the transfer portal. On the bright side, head coach Jon Sumrall - arguably the most sought-after coach in the cycle - announced he's returning to Tulane. With backup QB Ty Thompson and third-string QB Kai Horton also in the portal, the QB situation for the Green Wave looked shaky against Florida, but Thompson has said he plans to play. Sumrall will also be without one of his top pass rushers in DL Matthew Fobbs-White."

    Florida Opt-Outs:

Graham Mertz, QB (injury - out)
Treyaun Webb, RB (injury - questionable)
    Andy Jean, WR (transfer portal)
Eugene Wilson, WR (injury - out)
Kahleil Jackson, WR (injury - out)
Tre Wilson, WR (injury - out)
    Arlis Boardingham, TE (transfer portal)
    Gavin Hill, TE (transfer portal)
    Christian Williams, OL (transfer portal)
Devon Manuel, OL (injury - questionable)
    Mike Williams, OL (transfer portal)
Roderick Kearney, OL (injury - questionable)
    Bryce Capers, DL (transfer portal)
    Jack Pyburn, DL (transfer portal)
Jamari Lyons, DL (injury - out)
    Justus Boone, DL (transfer portal)
    Kelby Collins, DL (transfer portal)
    Quincy Ivory, DL (transfer portal)
    T.J. Searcy, DL (transfer portal)
    Deuce Spurlock, LB (transfer portal)
Grayson Howard, LB (injury - questionable)
Pup Howard, LB (injury - questionable)
Devin Moore, CB (injury - questionable)
    Ja'Keem Jackson, CB (transfer portal)
Jason Marshall, CB (injury - out)
Aaron Gates, S (injury - out)
Asa Turner, S (injury - questionable)

Betting impact from SBR's Rob Paul: "Billy Napier's team was one of the toughest in the SEC down the stretch, but the Gators are also dealing with several key injuries and transfers heading into their bowl game. DL Jack Pyburn and CB Jason Marshall are the biggest losses. On the bright side, OL Damieon George has withdrawn from the portal."

I was able to grab a Tulane +14 (-115) before the dip back down so sitting on some value but still leery of how motivated they will be after getting spanked by Army in the AAC Championship game.

Do you guys see a close game here or a Florida blowout?

Amazingly, Napier did a good job this season. Did it against a very tough schedule.

I wanted him gone early in the season but he really turned things around. The defense really looks beastly and the team is very young, mostly freshmen and sophomores. I may have to put a futures bet next season even with that ridiculous schedule.

8-5 against a brutal schedule. I wonder what the Semmies will look like next year.

FSU got a lot of talented players from the portal on paper but they had zero synergy. They seemed to not like each other. Just to show that you can’t just plug bodies. You have to find players that fit your system. I think FSU struggles next year too. It’s hard to develop cohesiveness.

Gators fan here, and I feel the same way exactly. I was so sure Napier was gonna be fired several weeks ago, but I have to give him some credit now. The team could have collapsed but they did the opposite. And the future is promising
