Dwight, this is a good one. I've referenced it before.

It almost speaks to the Un-conscious mind. Steve must have been thinking about the cheap-shot in Denver. It's like he channeled his energy and brought the heat against Harden.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

ya he was a class act. Brings back memories of making the trips down the I5 from Vancouver to the old King dome to watch them play.

Very nice, Dwight. Yes, Largent was awesome. I think he's forgotten (in some regards).

He was so under-stated. And the Seahawks never made the Super Bowl. Close in 1983, but the Raiders were so much better in the 2nd half of the season after they acquired Mike Haynes.

Largent set so many NFL receiving records. It was short-lived after Jerry Rice came on the scene a few years later.

Have to ask: Were you in attendance for that specific game versus DENVER? Have to imagine that hit blew the lid off the Dome. Seahawks went on to crush DENVER in that game.

naw that game was in Denver. I only seen games in Seattle. One season, I seen Marino play when Miami came to town, Randall Cunningham with the Eagles and Montana when he was on the Chiefs. The King Dome was a dreary ugly place. I can't imagine a worse place to watch a football game. We had shitty seats and you could barely understand the announcer with all the echoes inside the dome, but it was NFL football and cheap beers on ride down. There was no sports betting to speak of back then. Just drinking and football. Then the dreaded ride back to Vancouver. Memories.

Yeah, Dwight. On the Largent versus Harden thing:

              1) The FIRST game of the season was in Denver. That's the play where Harden knocked out two of Largent's teeth.
              2) The SECOND game where Largent got his payback was in fact in the Kingdome. Steve blew up Harden on the INT return...and he recovered the fumble, too!

duh, good point as per usual. No I wasn't there. I just remember that whole thing.

I did get arrested for selling an extra ticket to the game by an undercover cop once. Apparently I was too close to the Stadium to be selling tickets. Who knew? LOL

No worries, Dwight. The Largent hit is one my favorites. With 100 TD catches to his credit, Steve called that play the favorite of his career.

Salud, Johnny. Largent was a great player. Did it at a time when Passing wasn't as big as it is now.

The Steeler defense dominated the 70s. Largent came into the league before Marino took off. The records speak for themselves, as he set most of the receiving records.

He was a great route runner. Not a the fastest guy on the field. A couple other WR's who remind me of Largent were/are Wes Welker and Adam Thielen. I am probably not remembering a couple others.

Harden was such a POS. Love that Largent not only cleaned his clock but recovered the fumble as well. One thing I'd like to add is Largent did it all with his bare hands...I can only imagine the circus catches he would have made with the gloves WRs use today.
