SEC and Big 10 Wanting To Take More Than Half Of Playoff Spots
When the playoff goes to 14, they are proposing the Big Ten and SEC are guaranteed 4 spots a piece. They propose the Big 12 and ACC get 2 a piece. Though in most seasons it would probably equate to something like this ratio, I don't like the idea. The 2 conferences are already strong arming the industry. Don't let them continue to move that line further.

I've been saying that the FBS should split into two sub-divisions: Major and Mid-Major.
...Boise had a nice team. Were they ever going to make the Finals?

When you join a team, you want to have a realistic chance of winning the Title. In round #s, there are 132 FBS teams. Split it 66/66. Would be fun to watch Boise and other teams compete for the Mid-Major title.

Gap between Major and Mid-Major is large now. NIL $$ changed the game. Also, Major teams should no longer get to schedule FCS opponents b/c that gap is a chasm.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Just get rid of regular season and do a 128 playoff format from Week 1. The regular season means nothing if you get teams with 3-4 losses making the playoffs.

The best solution would be to let the Vegas oddsmakers select the playoff teams along with seeding.

As soon as you do that then you render the Mid-Major subdivision completely irrelevant in most fans' eyes.

They would just become a glorified FCS subset.

The only reason we gave a shit about Boise or SMU was because they threw their hat in the ring and had a chance to compete with the big boys for the most meaningful prize in football outside of the Lombardi trophy.

Might as well let them do this. What is the difference anyways? This way the committee doesn't have to take under the table bribes to get undeserving SEC and Big 10 teams in. I am sure the committee is tired of having to defend their picks with excuses we all know is a load of BS.
