Jim Nantz urged to retire immediately
I watched a lot of the Masters coverage this past weekend, and Nantz was brutal.
On his behalf he's a Hall of Fame broadcaster on a par with the great Dick Enberg.

My take (with a twist and a shout) is that the average viewer doesn't want the laid-back calls from a veteran like Nantz anymore.
The average viewer prefers the hyperbolic over the top calls from a Gus Johnson or a supercharged, energetic call from Kevin Harlan.

    This comment is brutal.
"Every... single... second does not have to be filled with over-dramatic babbling."
    (ouch)

The guy IMO has been absolutely great and a pleasure to listen to for a long time. However, it seems to get more and more sappy by the day. Emotion is a wonderful thing but nobody wants to be on the verge of tears every time you tune into him. Lol.

So, never thought I would say it, but yes, I agree Nasher.

Yeah, why not. These events should be more like a wedding than a funeral.

He would liven the place up.

          McAfee or Seacrest.

          *off topic*
CBS needs to knock it off with the bird chirping on a loop.
CBS isn't fooling anybody with that audio.

Read about this. Does appear to be phony. Live patrons say they never hear the birds.

            Maybe Larry Bird??
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Nasher - it’s golf. I don’t think anyone can make golf any more interesting, especially when they have to whisper. You can’t even get excited as an announcer on the course.

LIV events are shit shows and fun but they seemed to have lost momentum.

Yeah I don't know what's less exciting to watch Golf or Curling.

His voice and style are perfect for the Masters - Other tournaments not so much, but at Augusta, he's a mainstay!

Nantz is only 65. That’s young in media.

There are rumblings that Nantz may have early Alzheimer's, being that his dad has Alzheimer's.
Since Alzheimer's is not hereditary, I am having a lot of trouble with that rumor, proving once again that most rumors are created by the most ignorant.

I like Nantz, he grew up a Jersey boy, one of ours.
Moved here to Fairfield County, he used to eat at the bar/grill my wife used to manage, she says he's a genuinely nice guy and a generous tipper.

The problem with Jim lately is that he's lost a step and has become increasingly duller on the mic.
