I saw this stat. I don't know. Murray has been pretty good. Gordon has been a solid pro, what I'd call a solid 3rd-option.

That said, Jokic is a very unique talent. Will be interesting to see how the Nuggets do in the playoffs. See my bet thread, I'm ON the Nuggets.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Kroenke needs to clean out that front office.
Nuggets are the most top-heavy budget-wise team in the league; they've been for years.

86 percent of the team's cap goes to Jokic, Murray, and Porter.
The rest of the team is just 14 percent.

      Check it out.

Russell Westbrook has been an All Star half his career. Deandre Jordan has been an All Star too plus all defensive team. The only reason Murray hasn’t been an All Star is because of injuries. Aaron Gordon would be an All Star if he played on any other team. Michael Porter Jr too. Jokic has the ball in his hands most of the time. He’s running the entire offense and he works it through Murray. How, when can another player do anything to be an All Star playing on this team? It’s like Bosh and Klove playing with LeBron. Their games suffered.

Very good post, Mac. See my bet on Denver in the playoffs. I really think the players will feel looser now that they cleaned house.

**** all star designations. Porter and Murray are no bums... and Westbrook, though I can't stand him as a player, would easily make this Lakers starting 5

Ok maybe Russ wouldn't replace Reaves and it'd be hard to play three guard line ups too often, but it would be a devastating weapon when Lakers have to catch up.

IN COMPARISON, everyone is a bum, cause Jokic is so amazing

Ova, they reduced Westbrook's minutes late in the season. I much prefer him coming off the bench. Makes me more confident in my DEN bet, people are writing off the Nuggets.

He's been coming off the bench the last 5 years.

Denver is a larger US market than most people realize (ranked #18)
Denver serves three states, Colorado, parts of Wyoming, and Nebraska, as well.

Here's the problem with Denver, it's in that wacky Mountain Time Zone.
Two hours behind NYC (EST), one hour behind Chicago (CST), and one hour ahead of LA (PST)

Ask any network executive if the Mountain Time Zone drives them crazy.
For starters, there are only three large market cities besides Denver, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix.
(Not for nothing, a *large* market is generally defined as a top 100 rank)
Networks pay attention to the Eastern Time Zone cities for advertising dollars, ratings etc., etc.

Go up and down the I-95 corridor, starting from Boston, and work south.
You'll run into (starting from Boston) NYC, Newark, Philly, Baltimore, Miami, Orlando, Tampa/St. Pete, and Atlanta, even though I don't classify Atlanta as your prototypical I-95 east city, it's inland, away from the coast.
Eight of the top 20 US markets reside in the Eastern Time Zone.

The Central has all the Great Lakes port cities, including Minneapolis, Chicago, and Milwaukee.
Also the hearland big cities resides in the Central, like St. Louis, KC, not to mention Houston and Dallas.

The Mountain is like the red-headed ginger stepchild of the Time Zones, that nobody knows exactly what to do with.
I studied mass media and communications for a couple of years in case your wondering, what can I tell you, I'm a geek from way back.

Plus that shit fascinates me, and as long as mass media was a credited elective, I signed up while focusing on IT

The days of Westbrook and Jordan being all-stars is long gone. You know that as well as I do.

Westbrook won game 1 for the Nuggets. You can count on him more that that bum Michael Porter Jr. Jokic lost game 2 imo, with 7 boneheaded turnovers, some at the worst time.

I've been defending Westbrook for over a decade running (did you see what I did there?).
And I've been catching grief for over a decade regularly while defending Russ.

When I was just starting in organized athletics as an eight-year-old, my Dad (the greatest man that ever lived, but that's a biased opinion) taught me a very valuable life lesson. Dad told me, "Son, if you put in your very best maximum effort from start to finish, no matter how brutal the outcome may be, I will never be angry with you."

Dad was a career thirty-year military man; the one thing the military won't tolerate is quitters.
That's why going AWOL carries a hefty penalty if caught, AWOL is the worst form of quitting.

Which brings me to the point, Westbrook gives you max effort pretty much from start to finish, and that's why he'll always have respect with me.
