NHL and NBA playoffs. What my Top Side model has to offer.
I wasn't going to post this. I'm 100% committed to this baseball season but I'll share what my model has to offer.

Let me start with a sliding scale rankings for Round 1 series matchups. The scale is from (1-30). This is round 1 series matchups only. It is not for game 1 within the series.

    NHL Series rankings.

    Winnipeg (20)
    Washington (16)
    Toronto (12)
    Vegas (8)
    Carolina (5)
    Kings (2)
    Dallas (1)
    Tampa (1)

Those are the round 1 series selections and the strength of the selection. In looking at this, I'd make 2 series wagers.

    Winnipeg (-220) over Stl. Blues

    Dallas (+150) over Colorado

That's about all I see. There are 3 coin flips in round 1. One of these coin flips offer value on Dallas. Also I'd lay the juice on Winnipeg.

again this is for round 1 series.

    In the NBA

    Cleveland (27)
    OKC (26)
    Boston (23)

These 3 are mismatched. I see no value in wagering them.

    Knicks (9)
    Houston (6)
    Indiana (5)
    Lakers (1)
    Denver (1)

Houston at (+160) stands out. Other than that, I don't see much to wager on. The Lakers series and Denver series are projected to be close.

So for the opening round my Top Side model would suggest wagering.

    Winnipeg (-220) NHL
    Dallas (+150) NHL
    Houston (+160) NBA

I'll try and look at the Game 1s for each series, if I see anything, I'll post it.

    Good luck

    Tampa Bay vs Florida.
model has it a virtual toss up for the series.
As the line suggest, id have a slight lean for TB in game 1.
I have no wagers at this time.

Thanks guys, anyone want to look at anything.

i didnt mention it or bet it but Indiana was the selection in the first game. It rated a (7) on my Power Rankings scale in game 1 but they were a favorite in the game, so I didn't really have any value in the game.

In this second game of the day, i have Denver as the selection but the ranking was a low (2). Which means i would expect a close game today with a slight lean to Denver but it should be close.

Take a quick look at the 2 remaining games today. And I did not bet either of those.

                  The selections are.

                  Knicks (2)
                  Lakers (3)

Those are low rankings and indicates a possible close game in both.

here is the dilemma for me. My model is picking the knicks to win straight up but a good case could be made for Detroit +7.5

I wouldn't touch the Laker game, I think the line is correct.

                  Just my models 2 cents.

Did your model predict Houston kicking Jimmy Butler III's ass to the point he can't walk today? (I'm on Houston too, so I think they should just do it to Steph, too and make Brandin and Pat beat them)

Here is what I've played in round one.

                        Winnipeg (-220) NHL Series wager

                        Dallas (+150) NHL Series wager

                        Kings (+110) NHL Series wager

                        Houston (+160) NBA Series wager

                        Kings (-118) game 1 (Winner)

Here is what I'm adding for Thursday night April 24

                        Knicks (-115) moneyline Game 3
                        Played at Caesars

                        Winnipeg (-115) moneyline Game 3
                        Played at Fanduel

So my Power Side model likes the Knicks and Winnipeg tonight.

                        Good luck

Let me show you just how good my Power Side model has been. This is playing the model in it's truest form, which would be on the moneyline only.

My baseball is documented in another thread, in which I've had 28 selections. That record stand at (22-6).

Here is how the NHL Power Side model looks in the playoffs, if I had played only my best play each day.

                          Saturday (Winnipeg) Winner
                          Sunday ( Toronto) Winner
                          Monday (Winnipeg) Winner
                          Tuesday (Toronto) Winner
                          Wednesday (Washington) Winner
                          Thursday (Winnipeg) Pending

That's if u had played the Top selection each day on the moneyline. I didnt lay the juice.

                          So
                          MLB (22-6)
                          NHL (5-0)

The NBA hasn't lost either, if you had played the Top moneyline selection only but the juice would have been extremely high. Tonight is the first night that u could play the top selection as you should.

                          Knicks (-115) moneyline.

Just a little update on things.

The Power Side model today, if used correctly, would be on.

                          Royals Game 1 moneyline
                          Winnipeg Game 3 moneyline
                          Knicks Game 3 moneyline
