#5I honestly don't think I have watched one of his starts. Mets haven't played them in a series he pitched that I can remember and I haven't had a night where I said to myself "I need to watch a Pirate game"Comment -
#6Check out the latest Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More of Paul Skenes. Get info about his position, age, height, weight, draft status, bats, throws, school and more on Baseball-reference.com
...His stats look pretty dominant. Any sense as to whether he'll burn out? Or do you see him having good longevity?Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#8Matt Havey is probably the greatest HS pitcher out of Connecticut.
The Harveys have been in Mystic/New London forever. He's one of ours.
They have property near the USCG submarine base in Groton.
His old man played centerfield for UConn and was a linebacker in football.
I don't know how NCAA scholarships work, but I'm told UNC offered Matt a scholarship he couldn't refuse.
I tend to believe this, there's no other reason why he would have left here for North Carolina.
Matt'll be OK, he's been clean and sober for years, he has money, and he'll be making more money going forward.Comment -

His home is a ten-minute straight shot to Mohegan Sun.
That Mystic/Old Saybrook/Rhode Island area is loaded with money.
You have the hedge fund brokers to the south, and the 'goodfellas' from Providence from the north.
Matt had an eight-year head start on the party scene even before he hit Citi.
Hey Unde, talk me through your thought process as this play was developing.
On the very first pitch, in the first inning, Escobar hits a liner to the gap that makes Cespedes look like a Bush Leaguer.
You just knew the Mets were doomed on the very first pitch.
(I apologize for that, I couldn't resist)

#12Hey I am not ever going to say one bad thing about Cespedes. Even though we only really got a year out of the guy because he got hurt he was one of the main reasons we got to the WS along with Murphy and the emergence of the rookie Conforto. Cespedes was a beast that year and changed the team immediately when arriving.Comment
