RamJetsposrts.com - be aware of them
    Hi,

On October I signed-up to www.ramjetsports.com and received 20$ no deposit free bet as promotion. The conditions before withdrawal were:
    - 10 times rollover of the free bet amount
    - 100$ max payout

After that I should be able to transfer my 100$ to real account and play or withdraw it by check (without any charge).

I placed the bets and I was lucky, my account was growing. I'm from Europe, so everyday I asked live chat to place the lines earlier - I had to go home.

In the moment when I had made 60% of rollover, I tried to bet for fun on the NCAAB, as usually I had to go home, so after the lines appeared, I placed very quickly the bet. Bet was for fun, it was parley built from two events for stake 5$. My account in this moment was almost 120$ so you can see that it was for fun. Honestly, I knew nothing about these teams.

When I confirmed the bet, I realised that by mistake I marked two teams from the same sport events! I wanted to mark two teams but from different events (it was very close in the offer).

I tried to contact live support to explain the situation and cancel the bet, but they were unavailable, also next days. I sent also the explanation by email.

After couple of days I placed next bets, made rollover and won almost 180$. I requested transfer my 1004 to real account. Support checked my account history and decided that everything is ok and transferred the money.

Next day I decided to withdraw this money, people from RamjetSport.com checked everything again and told me that they will send the check next day (Friday).

On Monday I received the message that I broken the rules, played on both sides in one event and my check is cancelled. I haven't seen this rule before on their site. It was mistake but they don't want to listen.

I think that they wanted to close my account and they found the reason!

Please, think before you'll send them any money!!!

    best regards

Ramjet basically decided to weasel out of paying this player a mere $100. They have a rule that players who are using the free $21 accounts can't play both sides. Their concern was they didn't want players who got thier accounts over $100, to simply start betting both sides until the roll was over. SInce the max withdrawal for these accounts was $100, betting both sides after your account was more than $100 would have been the correct strategy. So they rightfully made a rule saying you can't do that. But the flaw was, the rule should have said, betting both sides won't count towarss the rollover.

In this case, the player was clearly not trying to avoid the rollover by betting both sides. He more than completed the rollover, and after reviewing the account, Ramjet discovered that there was a single occurence where the player bet $5 on one team, and then later $5 on the opposing team. This $10 had zero impact on the player completing the roll. But they jumped on that as a reason not to pay him.

I spoke to Ramjet twice about it. I tried to explain to them that while they may techically have thier rules to fall back on, the player clearly did not intend to cheat them, and should be apid. The $10 made zero difference to the account. ANd if the goal of the promotion was give people a chance to try out Ramjet, why in the world, would they want to give players the impression that they will use any excuse in the book to not pay. Thier response, was for players who depsoit cash, we would obviously treat them better. But since this was a free account, we're going to play strictly by the rules. SO I asked him, given this experience, why would anyone in thier right mind send you real money. How is anyone to really know, that you treat you real money players any better. ALl they could say, if it was a real money account they would have paid.

Maybe, the promo got so abused by players with false names and the such, they just wanted to stop the bleeding, and if they had a reason not to pay, maybe they were just so fed up, they said we're not paying. Or, maybe they are so broke, that they really couldn't afford this promo. Eother way, any book that would give such a minor infraction to not pay someone is a place that should be avoided

Interesting situation marc. I would like to give the book the benefit of the doubt as I like Action, but in my dealing with them of late they seem to have gotten very technical in their approach to the rules and are not very customer friendly. This case being more extreme. Sorry to see as Justin at Action used to be one of the best player focused customer service reps around.

With these free accounts the books are going to use whatever rules they have to get the highest % of desirable players. This was an odd decision that is sure to tick off a player who put his time into meeting the requirements. As Marc said, if the roll over was already completed, this money was his and they basically stuck it to him.

Do these free account promotions ever work, Bill?

It seems to me that they encourage abuse and then encourage the book to clamp down on any dubious cases such as this one. I'm not saying they acted correctly in this case, but I can imagine that they get their fair share of scammers jumping on deals like this.

Free money promos in general rarely meet the expectations of the book. Almost every book who provides some type of no-deposit bonus or bailout to a player says "I didn't expect them to leave right after they met their roll-over". Everyone from PlayWePay, 777Rock back to Royal Sports (when Roberto was GM) all say, "I'm glad we could help some people out but I wouldn't do it again".

The problem is good established books don't give away free money so when the player has the chance to take real money from a place he doesn't 100% trust, he is going to take it. More often than not the free account offers are bad investments.

There are exceptions. A shop like Atlas that thinks it has made some big improvements and feels confident it can retain players, might try to do some branding knowing they will take a short-term loss. Some of the top books not known to give bonuses may send out vouchers to target a certain type of player. Big bonuses can work when the marketing is very focused on the right demographic. For example, if the book could offer the accounts to bettors at the sports bar on a Sunday they might be in good shape.

Marc is a great guy to have in your corner and certainly understands the player's POV. I know he tried hard to show the flawed logic used by Ramjet.

Ramjet and Action are the same company with slightly different bonus structures and perks.

Nothing against Kazow, but I have to side with the book on this one. I definitely wouldn't suggest this as a sole reason to not use their services. Now the best way to finish the story would be for Ramjet to go above and beyond...Reinvest Kazow with his funds, set another rollover and then pay him promptly after he is done.

I think the old saying, "if it's too good to be true, than it probably is" applies here...unless you don't care about ever receiving the money, I wouldn't even mess around with books like these...

                          isetcap,

Can you explain why you would side with the book. THe perosn at ramjet whom I spoke to, couldn't give me a reason taht made sense to me. He even indicated that he thought the management decision was wrong.

Free accounts are always abused. When royal gave them out, they got clobbered. It's not just the money that you lose from the winnings, but your staff gets swampped with payout requests, and then you have to deal with all of the multiple accounts, so just in terms of the manpower to manage all of these aco****s, it cocts a nice chunck of change. And what these books don't understand, is that most players once they can cash out, will. But where they might make some money is from these players telling their friends, or going to the forums and telling people that these guys do pay.

For instance, I'm sure Rock got a lot of new customers because they bailed out dimeplayer. For those of us who never heard of Rock, when we heard that they paid all the dimeplayer cusomters, some of us were more willing to give them a try. . But if you're a dimeplayer customer who was waiting 6 months for your money, and suddenly Rock comes along and offers to pay you, of course you're just going to grab your money and run. The problem with Playwepay was that they bailed out a small book, and really didn't capitalize on it. They didn't really come to the forums and say hey we just bailed these guys out, why not give us a shot. Could be that they don't want forum players. But I don't see how they expected thier bailout to bring in new players

Going back to ramjet, There are a lot of reason for not paying a player with a free account. they could have said, this player has the same ip as a dozen others. Could have claimed the player was abusive to thier staff. But that simply wasn't the case. The player won, so they treated him like crap. It just makes you beg the question, so why offer the free aco****s. Unless your book is a total scam, what book in thier right mind would risk their repuation over $100.

Ramjet's standing is on the technicality that Kazow put money on both sides of a contest while attempting to satisfy his rollover requirement. Therefore, it is well within their right to confiscate the funds as a stated rule has been violated. Now if they want to try to turn this into a positive situation for themselves, they will carefully review Kazow's account and resolve the matter as I detailed above. Either way, their actions in this specific case do not warrant negative forum press. To me, it is just a clear example of making sure to understand and follow stated terms when pursuing a bonus.

My biggest concern in this whole issue would be the part where Kazow says he attempted to contact support for days after he made his error. Their lack of reply (if Kazow is accurate) is where they faltered, and they should take the opportunity to make up for it by reinstating his funds.

After I realised that it was mistake, I tried to contact to Live Support in their working hours. It was unavailable, also next days there was no possibility to contact them. I sent also an email with explanation.

Due this situuation I stopped my betting for couple days, after I didn't receive the answer I started again.

There is also one point, when I decided to transfer my "virual bonus" to real account in real cach - they checked my bettng history and everything was ok!!!!

When I requested the withdraw couple days later they told me that everything is ok. Next day person on live chcet informed me that check for me is ready and will be mailed this day!!!

After three days I received info that my account is frozen !! I'm sure that if wanted to play not withdraw there will be no any problem... Or maybe problem will be during withdrawa my bigger winnigs.
