#163Not going out of business, shareholders are worried with the all in wagers today. The lack of investors has left me with no other option than to go big in hopes of a large return. The 3% commission fees with only 4-5 shareholders just won't be profitable. Unless, ofcourse, the Marlins, Mariners, and Brewers somehow all win.Comment -
#164iifold,
This is a good idea, unique idea for the forum. I think your problem with getting new investors is that your fund price exploded so quickly. The IPO was 10 and the first time I ever even heard of this fund the price was already 60.
Also, you are making all the calls 100%. I am not questioning that as you have turned a great profit, but most investors are going to want to have some input with you still making the final call. I mean even a CEO of a fortune 500 company takes input from thye board of directots, shareholders, and others.
I think another thing is the all ins. Like today. You are winning both your plays so far, but all ins scare people away as they are dangerous.
This is something that could work long term at SBR. But you need to change some things to attract new investors not just hope they come. Like do a stock split to lower the price back to a 10-20 level. Like if the price is 60, and you lower it to 10 then everyone who has shares will have 6 times as many.
Maybe dont make any plays for a week and that week will be used to get new shares sold and the price will stay at X for that week. If the price was 10 and the thread kept getting bumped so everyone sees it, you could probably sell 200-300 shares during that week.
Also, each day a thread could be started for shareholders to discuss the next days games and add their input about who they like and why. You could use that thread to choose plays. Of course, you are still choosing as their will be people on opposite sides, so you are still going to have to decide.
Also, some stricter rules like no all in days ( a limited % of the shares assets per day like 20% max )
Maybe no 5 team parlays or say all 5 team parlays have to be limited risk like 1/2% of the total assets.
Also, maybe clear rules about how and when new shares can be bought, maybe say instead of the 3% commission fees, you get a certain amount of points when the price breaks 25, then again when it breaks 35, or whatever , etc.
Like say you get 300 shares sold at 10 per share so you have 3000 then if you get it up to 25 you would have 7500 so say you get 500 points for that lowering the value to 7000, then if you get it up to 40 you would have 12,000 in the fund so you get something again, then when it gets to 50, then 60, etc.
These are just ideas and the exacts could be worked out by people who have a large number of shares in a seperate thread, like a real company does. You know like shareholders with a lot of shares get voting rights and stuff.
I am just saying these are some ideas, and I am sure there are a lot of other ideas that could help too. Im not trying to tell you what to do with your idea, its a good idea and you have 4X the fund so far. Just saying, you are talking about ending it, but if you are serious about it, no need to end it when you hit a bump. You just come up with some new ideas and get those shareholders you need. Also, remember its baseball season. ( yawner for me and most people ). If you can Grow this between now and start of football season, then your fund could have big points to go into football season with.
these are Just my ideas, hope you dont take offense and I am sure a lot of other people have some ideas too. Either way, good luckComment -
#165Thanks nobs,
let's see how these play out, we will go from thereComment -
#166iifold, did you ever hire a CEO? If not, I nominate nobs.Comment -
#167Thanks Dad, but i think ifold is doing great CEO. Wow Brewers 3-1 and Marlins 7-0. Good luck on those and the Mariners tonight. Bad news though, I like the Mariners.Comment -
#168If we survive today, we might have to look into hiring nobs to be CEO. I'm thinking he can control money management, but Id like to continue making the plays.
Might need to take away the commission fee and change it to a % of profit made, we need a shareholders meeting.
First things first, we need the Brewers to hold on.Comment -
#169Wow.. Trevor Hoffman sucks. Brewers lose.Comment -
#170all in wagers piss off the gambling gods
