Why is Circa ranked 10th in the SBR ratings?
Everyone in Vegas raves about the book and how player friendly they are.

Surely they should be higher than 10th?

    What am I missing here.

If it is anything like how they did their non-American ratings, it is because there are nine sportsbooks that paid a higher fee than Circa.

Have you looked at the review?

It's pretty extensive and should make it very clear why it sits where it does.

                      But for those too lazy to click and read, here is the Pros and Cons list there;

                      Pros
                      • World’s largest sportsbook in Las Vegas.
                      • High limits.
                      • Can offer more favorable lines than competitors.
                      • Will occasionally open the market on odds.

                      Cons
                      • Limited selection of sporting events and betting options.
                      • Narrow selection of deposit and withdrawal options.
                      • No deposit bonuses or promos.
                      • Promoted contests have high entry fees, making them inaccessible to casual bettors.

Poster name Juan Valdez is the guy redoing them. I'll point him at this thread but PM him too if you like.

Before you claim the new ratings have anything to do with advertising, please go read some of them before making up your mind.

The main aim of redoing every one was to ensure they are as unbiased and accurate as possible. Plenty of discussion of real negatives as well as positives in every one.

Hey, Slick. Circa is one of the most challenging books to rate because they are undoubtedly the best sportsbook for a particular type of player. Our new rating system weighs each book in various categories important to most players and compares them against industry leaders in each category. This includes things like deposit bonuses (Circa has none), banking options (Circa only has two methods), and app ratings (Circa has no user reviews on Google Play, and their App Store rating is trending down from 4.1 previously to 3.6 now). As you also mention, “Everyone in Vegas raves about the book.” This is primarily due to their unique retail location, not their online sportsbook, which is what our reviews are based on.Eventually, we plan to have categories that are a lot more granular and important to more advanced bettors, like the quality of odds and hope to find a way to quantify how severely books are limiting players. These are two areas where Circa definitely thrives, and to be honest, their grade is the only one in the U.S. right now that is not based entirely on our new system because we recognize that the book does have a lot to offer but what it does offer isn’t easy to measure by a number and compare against the industry. We have bumped Circa up to where we feel they’re best represented with all players (recreational included) in mind. While most bettors are just looking for fun and engaging ways to have some skin in the game and take advantage of ongoing promos, Circa simply doesn't fit that bill. Eventually, we hope to allow users to filter rating categories so that you are appropriately matched with a book best suited to your interests. We are not paid for any ratings like the previous owners (and most review sites), so this has nothing to do with it.I hope that answers your question well, feel free to shoot any other comments.

No ratings are paid for anymore. That shit stopped when new owners took over. We have plenty of books on our top lists in all regions that are technically affiliate partners of SBR, but we have rated below average because that's where they belong. If there are any books you see rated lower than you think they should be, I would love to hear why you think that. We can also explain why we have them rated that way and take a look at adjusting if we have missed something. We have a new rating system specifically applied to U.S. books, but international books are still more of a work in progress. However, for international books, we have reached out to reliable and experienced resources like Opti for opinions to ensure they are accurately represented.
