#2Sports gambling and relax don’t usually go together.
That said, be prepared for some wild responses.
Maybe check out the think tank sub forum
I might think twice about walking away from being a student.
Today’s world requires education in most careers.
Be careful with your decision.
Good Luck to you.Comment -

#4You gotta find the markets that suit you to your skill set. In my opinion a 100K bankroll is recommended playing 2.5% on all your plays. Do not change up your betting amounts ever, no game should mean more than the next game or you’re betting too many games.
Track your bets & know why you made them. Stick to your monthly budget and have a stop loss if you go cold. Let’s face it if we are losing and not confident betting than you will make mistakes to further hurt your bankroll.
This is a full time job so treat it as one you are an independent contractor protecting your bankroll. I’m not saying I have all the answers but these are things that will keep you a float during positive & negative variation.Comment -
#5Can you also start this as a hobby if you bet 20,50,100 bucks? I don't want to lose large sums!Comment -

#7Bro just drop out of school, get a 20$/mo chat gpt subscription, tell it to make you a model and fukkin profitComment -
#8No , not for me anyway, but it is a business that will keep you on your toes which would make some people anxious.
The other posts were insightful so consider them. It’s just not for everyone and if you are going to make a living betting, there are not many days off and days can be many hours of work.
It’s not easy at all. It’s a very tough business.
Very tough.Comment -

#11I don't recommend trying it unless you want to make your capping a full time job and if you can show discipline.Comment -
#12I’m still struggling with this myself, but I think that 10K loss on Baltimore ML is the final straw for me to up my anti regarding any of my bets. One unit is 1K for me and it will be for the foreseeable future. I’m a selective and low volume guy which helps induce control to stay on track.Comment -
#13If you go 55% over 100 bets at $20 risk you may be able to take your parents out to dinner at a nice Applebees restaurant after and tell them you made it. That’s all you can do though. You need a real bankroll and many smart people before you have tried and failed at this game. Stick to school and make this a side hustle you work on. Check in after 6 months of daily grinding out winners and tell us how it’s going.Comment -

I bet tons of games like a jackass with money falling out of my pockets but have taken a big step back because it’s really just wasteful and unnecessary. The wins won’t change my life and the losses make me angry. Have to know your stop loss like you said. I’m down over $70k the last 12 months. There’s honestly just better shit to do with the money.

#17I started gambling while as a student and it doesn’t make you studious. It will distract you so I would start small, under $100, until after school. In the meantime, dabble into sports and find out what you’re good at and stick with it.
If you’re good at math, I would venture into card counting and head to your local casinos. I would do it but I drink too much and don’t have the discipline.
However, I also like craps and before Covid was a decent dice setter. “Upside down V 3s” and “railroads” were my sets. Cool thing about craps was while waiting for your turn, you can chill and watch sporting event that you wagered on, if that game is on tv near your table. Or periodically check the score on your phone while you wait. (I hardly bet on different shooters unless they had decent previous runs. Or sometimes go on the dark side if you get amateurs shaking the dice and acting foolish.). But whatever you do, do NOT play online casino.
Whatever you decide, good luck!Comment -

50-50 propositions where the payout is over 100%(+100/better). From there the data, stats, league trends, edges all have to confirm this. This normally initially gives a nice list, that gets twiddled down to nothing. This is just an example of about 30 angles that can be proven profitable. This profession is a lifetime mastery.
Get yourself a high paying gig kid. A trade where you get paid to learn and soon enough branch into you own business. Electrician, plumber, heavy equipment operator, if you like fixing/working on cars, buy a few then get a dealer's license. Don't sell yourself short kid, don't be that 85-year-old broke ass Walmart greeter.Comment -

#26Can make you any kind/flavor of custom crafted moonshine @ any proof you want, will probably cost you more than your affordability level thought. Geez homemade pizza tastes far better than store bought? don't you agree.Comment -

If I weren’t involved in what I do for a living and fortunate enough to build and own a successful business I would 100% go to trade school and learn something much more useful.Comment -
#28I know, there really is no substitution for unbelievable life advice. I kick myself everyday for not becoming a gay male prostitute. I tell young men this all the time. They frequently write thank you notes delivered via nude singing carpenter telegram, envelopes sealed with spermComment -
