How do you know if the sausage you are eating at the BBQ is from Louisiana? Where I go they are not labeled by state. It just says sausage.

He managed to get a peek at the label on the package that it came from, and next to the ingredients section, it said 'rat, frog, possum, and squirrel byproducts', so he just made the assumption

I don't know if the sausages were actually from Louisiana or not, But the label said Louisiana. It was a huge package, about 30 sausages in the package.

My bad..I just read your first post. You said you went to a BBQ. I thought you meant you went to a BBQ restaurant.

So if it was a private cookout the problem may not have been the brand of sausages but the way they were refrigerated in the house prior to cooking or the cooking wasn't adequate.

I went to a friend's house once and he asked me to pour his son a glass of milk. I went to his fridge. I found the jug and noticed it has expired. I told him that the milk has expired and his response was: "Pour it for the kid. We drink expired milk".

And I'm 2,000 miles north. Helped do some rebuilding down there post-Katrina though. Good food, real friendly people.
