    DVD ripping
anyone know a simple and free DVD ripping program. i've ripped my CD's and CD's from friends for years, put it in the drive, open windows media player, hit the rip button, bam! CD ripped.
but i've never ripped a DVD before, sometimes there is outtakes in the extras that i like, so i figured i could rip them and share the video with friends or family. like i just rented this piece of garbage called "Employee of the Month", the movie sucked, but in the extras it had these ad-libs by Harland Williams (hes a comedian) that i thought was hilarious, i'm just trying to rip that part. i've googled, and downloaded 3 different programs in the past hour, and they all suck and are confusing as hell.
I just want a simple program. any help would be appreciated.

I guess that the DVD you were ripping is partially unreadable of which DVD Decripter was informing you.

yeah, it would get to about 12-13% then keep having rereads/retries and a box would pop up with abort, retry, ignore or something like that, anyway, whatever i clicked wouldn't work.
it would say something about sectors unreadable or broken.
do you know if certain movie companies disks are un-decryptable(i don't know if that is a actual word), anyway it is a Lions Gate movie.

So, the disc is unreadable BUT you may have a better luck trying another computer/DVD drive.

Any DVD can be decrypted. There might be some issues, though. For instance, see this thread:

Here is another free tool that may address some issues with DVD Decrypter:
Download DVD/Blu-ray Copy 13 and DVD/Blu-ray Ripper 13 : DVDFab lets you make perfect quality DVD movie backups

Don't spend a penny on any program. Plenty of free software out there. I hear DVD Shrink does the trick. Even better combined with DVD Decrypter. So I hear.

Dvd Decrypter doesnt give updates anymore to filter out the security feature encrypted on newer dvds whereas Anydvd updates constantly whenever new security encryptions are made.

I use both Shrink and Decrypter combined. Shrink to take out the previews and all the other languages I don't need.......the Decrypter to rip it.

                                    Rarely ever have a problem.
