I think Les Miles was more inclined to 'stay at LSU' than 'not go to Michigan'. Wish we could have had him, but he has legit shots at national championship right now.
Brady Hoke turned teams around at schools that are very difficult to win at in 2-3 years. Michigan isn't talentless, and with the national recruiting power we have, he could make things happen rather quickly.
I was not a big fan of the hire of B. Hoke, but watching his passion at the press conference this is a guy I can come around to. I'm not big into the whole Michigan Man title. But it was nice to his passion for Michigan.

lol yeah he had losing years at Ball State, a school that's nearly impossible to win at, before taking them to a 12-1 season, and then turned San Diego St around in 2 years. Bolding the overall record definitely doesn't tell the whole story.
Brady Hoke is a good coach....but it does say something about Michigan when they have to go to a coach from San Diego St to take the job. Michigan used to be a Top school and could name their coach...not no more.
Anybody else see that Denard's high school coach said that if he were to leave he'd most likely go to UCF? UCF!?! If that's Michigan's top competition I think theres a good chance he's sticking around.

Ok, I'll raise you one... Gene Chizik was 5-19 going to Auburn.
Let get things straight. It took Hoke 5 years, not 2 or 3, to turn the program at Ball State around. At San Diego State, Hole took a very large senior class and a team with a lot of returning starters to an 8 win regular season. Of those 8 wins, only 1 was against a team that went to a bowl game. San Diego State lost their other 4 games against bowl teams. So it looks as if Michigan will settle for also-ran status, and hope that they can at least defeat Ohio State. The schedule is easy, as all Michigan schedules are. They play Eastern and Western Michigan at home, along with Notre Dame and, you guessed it, San Diego State. They also get Minnesota and Prudue at home. They should be able to win 5 of those games. Then reality sets in. They finish the season at home against Nebraska and Ohio State. They must travel to Northwestern, Michigan State, Iowa, and Illinois, all very losable games. Right now, 6-6 will look good.

You're comparing Michigan to Ball St. and SDSU. These theories just don't always work.
He now has to get the players to run his system. Rich Rod recruited a totally different type of player. The turnaround time should be 3 yrs which would give a good indication of the direction the program is headed.
Will take Hoke a long time to fix this mess. Don't see us being competitive for at least 3 years. It is basically impossible to judge if Hoke will do well or not but I am confident.
